i'm haven't gone to a meeting since june of '05. i call myself "inactive" to JW's who i've stumbled upon. i scrutinized some of the "apostate" stuff and none of it ever sank in. (mainly cause the only things i read were people complaining about things they weren't allowed to do, even adding a few things that weren't true) BUT after praying really hard asking for answers, i stumbled across jwreform.org and THAT got the ball rolling for me because it didn't seem like it was written by converted trinitarians wanting to get people out. lol. so, here i am!!!!!! (that was 6 months ago i think)

Anyone look at this board while still an IN and ACTIVE JW?
by Mad Sweeney ini vaguely remember looking at this board a few years ago, before i ever considered leaving the borg, and being appalled at the evil and hateful attitudes i saw here and scared to death of reading any further.. now i go back through years and years of posts and there is no evil or hate there at all.
it's one of the most kind and welcoming boards i've encountered since the invention of the internet.. that is how well borg indoctrination works.
it is eerily like 1984. black is white.

How Many 18-35 year old JW's have Exited the Cult in Your Family ?

in my family i have 8 young people aged 21 through 35 .
these are my son and two daughters and my older siblings 5 adult children.

read whatever books i wanted, even apostate ones over the years.

most of this was in my late teens while we were fading.....
watched r rated movies. (my mom let us)
stretched my ears to a 10gauge (my mom didn't care. no one even noticed) now i'm 5/8''g .....
listened to metal, rock, and punk bands as long as there was no swearing or "bad stuff".
talked to df'd people.
sat in the smoker's lounge at work. (cooler people.)
wore all black all the time, dyed my hair black. no one cared.
had a bunch of gay friends. (cooler people)
physically assaulted my older sister's (at the time) boyfriend, who asked me to suck his you-know-what. (they're both non-JW)

Did you carry any No Blood paraphernalia around?
by cult classic ini never really carried anything on me.
it was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting).
but i always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet.

by jwfacts init has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.
it is a very long article full of scans, so i have linked to it at http://jwfacts.com/watchtower/experiences/personal-files-privacy-act-1988.php.
in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

i dunno if this has been posted (i don't have a very good attention span) BUT....
wouldn't it be awesome if somehow a law got passed that forced the org to send EVERYONE (especially actives) their personal records?? how much problems do you think that would cause within? lol. but, of course, that is a dream that will never come true.

i sent the link to my mom. she told me that when we moved our letter to the next congregation basicly said that we were mooches and only in it for what we could gain from the brothers and sisters, in other words, we were poor and they couldn't benefit from US. she found that out from an elder's wife who's husband told her EVERYTHING about everything. so THAT explains why no one would EVER help us out when my dad got laid off and we LITERALLY went hungry and the elders all knew it. never mind that WE were always the first in line to help anyone else.
i would LOVE to get a hold of my records to see what ELSE was written about me. we moved a lot, so there would be quite a few letters informing the next cong of our evil ways. pshhhh.
