New Understanding Begets More Direction From The "Slave"
by TMS injehovah's name people have delighted in recent refinements in understanding coming through god's slave class at the direction of holy spirit.
these adjustments in thinking have at times required humility and reasonableness to be exhibited by longtime servants of jehovah.
consider, for example, the recent information showing that we could not put an exact timetable on the calling of those to serve along with christ jesus in the heavenly kingdom.

TMS, you are brilliant! Ha, ha, ha!
Sorry, but what do you mean by "when I read the new generational change this evening"? Has the "new understanding" you guys brought up around three months ago been confirmed???? Anything has been printed?

Favorite Watchtower words or short phrases
by darthfader ini have seen these words/phrases used frequently by the wtbs and rarely elsewhere.
** warning, this may become a barf inducing list.
your mileage may vary.. faithful and discreet slavefield servicemodern day antediluvians (pulled that one out of my hat)what words or phrases strike you as uniquely "watchtower"?.

Were There Any JW Doctrines Or Beliefs That You Found Confusing?
by minimus inmost witnesses never could explain exactly who the "faithful slave" was (according to the society's explanation).
the resurection of the sodomites was another bewildering thing.
were they or weren't they going to be resurrected?

And there I was thinking all these years I was the only one who didn't understand...

I'm Re-Naming Myself as The New Kool-Aid Man. Also in this issue: Obeying the Faithful Slave and 'the Mighty God'
by sd-7 in" "ooooh yeah!!".
it is unavoidable that a name as cool as kool-aid man would face a challenge.
but is this a challenge?

Very, very good, Sd-7! You are a real expert on WT lingo!

Question for JW - Why do you have a "secret" WT edition?
by Albert Einstein inrecently i asked my wife: if our son one day comes home and says "well, i just joined new religion, we study a publication there, that iam not allowed to show anybody..." how would you feel?
does it sound like a cult?.
wife admitted: that would be scarry..... me: so why do jw have secret wt edition to study, that noone else is supposed to get?.

"To make arrangements", "circuit overseer" (my husband asked me whether those guys wear helmets the first time he heard the term at a meeting. It took me a few seconds to understand what he meant), "to paraphrase a scripture" (he also cracked up when he heard one of the oddball brothers say to another from the stage: "Paraphrase, brother, paraphrase").

If the Watchtower truly collapsed, how would you deal with your JW relatives?
by nicolaou inimagine the best case scenario.
the watchtower society implodes from within even making final printed admissions that it is voluntarily dismantling it's mission and legally dissolving the corporations.
oh happy day!

WT language
by KingAgag inthe wts, being american, prints its english material in american english.
i know some people might trash me here but for a european i found it frustrating.
color is supposed to be colour, highway is motorway and a faucet is a bloody tap!

I also find it sad to come across so many spelling and grammar mistakes on posts written by native English/American speakers. I personally keep two thick dictionaries 20 cms. away from my computer and use them profusely before I hit Submit. I find my efforts are worth it because I'm a perfectionist. But not everybody minds so much. That's the way things are...

uni is not all its cracked up to be me dears, sorry
by highdose ini've noticed on this forum the big regret of alot of people seems to be that they didn't go to collage or university.. speaking as someone whose done the whole shebang, i can tell you that while yes i learnt alot at collage, uni taught me very little at all.
in fact anything i learnt i taught myself by spending hours apon hours in the uni libary, which i could have done by just getting a day pass.. my degree has not helped me in my career, i already knew how to do what i do before going to uni.
i run my own business now but i am sure that if i ever went for an employee postion my years of experiance would count far more than the bit of paper i have proving i have a degree.. getting a degree is pretty much down to knowing how to work the academic system.

I think Highdose was just trying to make us feel less bad about not having gone to the University, and her reasons sound pretty convincing to me. But of course I understand your points of view as well.
