We're in a similar situation, where we rely on my MIL for childcare on a fairly regular basis.
The other day we were cleaning out the remnants of our WTS stuff from the house and our 3-year-old saw the Bible Stories book and yelled, "No! That's Jehovah's book!" and snatched it from the recycling bin. She then proceeded to open the book and point out to us all the things that Jehovah had done.
This is going to be a fun conversation with my MIL, but a necessary one. The other kids are not at all interested in the JW stuff, but a 3-year-old is so impressionable.
Paul, I'm sure you'll find a way to set some reasonable boundaries for your MIL.

That kid was me (not literally). I used to stand on a 5-gallon bucket to give my talks, starting at the age of 5. This is bringing up some seriously negative feelings right now. Fuck.

" Visco has said that she wants to build the church so it’s closer to Edison residents than Jehovah’s Witnesses halls in Plainfield and Metuchen. The latter is 3 miles from the proposed site.
Jehovah’s Witnesses have flipped properties for profit, said Robert Spiegel, executive director of Edison Wetlands Association and commissioner of the Dismal Swamp Preservation Commission. According to land records, the church has flipped properties within the past six years in Washington, D.C., and Brooklyn, N.Y.
If the tax-exempt organization does the same off Alexis Lane, residents would have little say in what goes in its place, Spiegel said.
“It strikes me as so hypocritical that Jehovah’s Witnesses want to destroy something as unique and precious as the Dismal Swamp Conservation Area,” Spiegel said. “This isn’t a battle about religious freedom. They don’t need to destroy a pristine ecosystem. I don’t have anything against religious freedom. I just don’t want to see the swamp destroyed."

"JehovahsWitnesses do not try to predict when God will destroy the wicked."
by stillstuckcruz insorry i pressed enter on the last topic by mistake.
anyway, in the new december 1st, public edition of the wt, in an article titled "will the earth survive 2012?
" an actual paragraph says this:.

"...destroy the wicked."
LOL. Who talks like that, honestly? Douchebags.
And, yes, the WTS counts on its adherents having VERY short memories.

All right, Shamus, I FB'd you. NOW WHAT?
TD...it's a great preventive medicine, isnt' it? GB, I'll check out that book, thanks for the recommendation ....haha, BTS, I had forgotten all about Forrest's ultra-ultra-hyper marathon! Good stuff. I know what you mean about the endorphins, exwhyzee...my run yesterday was in just awful weather...went anyway, felt awesome. Gotta get some gloves, though. I'm noticing that everything warms up except my hands on cold-weather runs.
White Dove, if you go cross-country walking, you can swing by New England and visit, ok? And the critters, too. PaintedToeNail, power walking is great too...works a completely different set of muscles, like those buns. On my first 5k race, there were both runners and walkers, and the walkers' technique was amazing. There was this dude, about 7 feet tall, who walked the 5k in less than 20 minutes. Insane!

Get ready - the final end of everything October 21
by wannabefree inperhaps this has already been addressed, i looked ... i thought you might want to know, not much time left ..... harold camping .... some time after being released from a nursing home in june after suffering a stroke, camping, released an audio message on family radio's website saying, "we would have not been able to be used [by god] to bring about the tremendous event that occurred on may 21 of this year, which probably [will] be finished out on oct. 21 that's coming very shortly.
that looks like it will be ... the final end of everything.".

Wow, GB...that's pretty awesome stuff. 6 marathons is nothing to sneeze at, but those ultras are incredible.
Interesting to note some of your achievements at 45 or older. I was looking through the results in my area, and the best times all seem to be dominated by either high school track runners or 45-plus year-olds.
