The journey out of the cult may be rough, but the destination is awesome.
Good for you label licker! Go for it!
and she tried to act as if she were by best friend, hugs and all.
i told her the elders were dirty getting her and her family to come in at the last minute and be my accusers yet none of them could remember anything from six years ago.
i told her this was all on account of her brother.

for example, let's say an awake jw wanted to share ttatt about the true meaning of john 10:16, so he just posts on his facebook wall a couple passages of scripture with no commentary whatsoever - like this:.
"in answer he said: i was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of israel.
- matthew 15:24.
The elders (I mean Pharisees) have wide ranging powers, authority and autonomy to do as they like, and use catch-alls against anyone for any reason, even if they simply dislike the person.
The "ruling religious clergy class" are always right no matter how wrong they are.
The "laity class" are always wrong no matter how right they are.
Nothing has changed for thousands of years.
This is the reality, how it plays out over and over gain. TATT. Their identity: from their father the devil.
ok, i haven't introduced myself properly.
sorry for that, but i just never feel like i've got something really interesting to say.
so i rather respond on topics of other people.
I wonder if you could teach English, or lead tour groups, or find social groups on Meetup.com, or get on a Spanish course?
i could go on and on about my personal journey over the last 2 years or so, but i don't need to.
everything i needed to hear to finally lay my doubts to rest happened on one meeting night.
it could only be divine providence.
They do have "the truth" - their version - not the Bible's or God's.
have been visiting jwn for about a week now and it motivated me to join.
i look forward to meeting everyone i can and learning from their experiences and wisdom as i search for more and more reasons not to get reinstated.
here's most of my story:.
Welcome sunny23!
Good on you for waking up to the Watchtower and its deception so long before your 40th or 60th birthday.
Some of us are a little envious...
hello everyone, i know you have heard this topic before and your probably thinking.
...not again lol.. but i was wondering if anyone has thought of going back for the same reasons as myself, i don't think its the truth but i searched and my conclusion is that other religions don't have the truth, they are all wrong in my opinion.
if there is no other religion to go too, why leave were i was born and raised.
Welcome excaliber.
Whilst pursuing the full good news (or unabridged gospel) as outlined in Ray's book ISoCF, I have found myself going in an opposite direction to any/all religion.
I am happy with my faith and spirituality, which continues to grow. I'll never go back to (any) religion.
say hi to dannalight here.... she made a post http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/46/12/welcome#4909211 but it made more sense to make a new topic for her....
A warm welcome dannalight.
it has been about 2000 years since jesus walked the earth and has been hailed as the son of god by christians .. the jews refuse to acknowledge jesus as the son of god.. the muslims recognise jesus as only a prophet .. their are billions of christians earth wide.
their are at least a billion muslims world wide.
i`m sorry i dont know how many jews their are world wide ( please add the 6 million who died in concentration camps ).
Hey smiddy!
Those that pursue religion diverge.
Those that pursue the gospel/bissar/injeel converge.
Although we might find this too simple to believe, it is what it is...
Why though are we so willing to give decades of our lives to the former, and none to the latter?
i've been out the organisation for around 8 years.
when i first left, im positive that i suffered from some sort of post traumatic stress.
i was very angry at myself for accepting the really bad parts of the religion that i strongly disagreed with.
"I've got a burning desire to read the bible again and when I do it sort of makes sense to me. But I could never be partof a religion again. Is there anyone else like this?"
Yes, I now enjoy a vibrant faith and spirituality quite apart from religion, and despite my religious past (3rd gen born-in, member for more than 4 decades).
I now identify as SBNR (Spiritual But Not Religious).
"It just feels like I'm being drawn to a spiritual outlook."
Exactly the same here, especially at the start of the journey, and at some distinct points prior.
What helped our family a great deal was focussing on the explicit and unabridged gospel message, starting in the book of Romans, on the topics of "imputed righteousness" (justification), "imputed holiness" (sanctification), "free gift", "faith vs works" and "law vs grace".
Glad to help further where possible.
Greetings
Fernando

we went swimming today, and joined up in the gym.
we will go every week on a sunday, and i will go alone twice a week.
i found it particularly easy to get involved with the other gym members in the suana, or playing with our kids in the pool.. we had a really great time, we even had reading time by the pool.
Good for you Kate.
