Would you rather live under Islam or WT?
by shakyground ini've been reading alot of info about islam and people living under the yoke of islam lately...omg.
people being put on death row for speaking against muhammad, people being killed for blasphemy even after being found innocent in court.
an unarmed man in pakistan shot over 20 times by his own bodyguard because he spoke against the blasphemy law they have.

What is Apostasy?
by Fernando inhas anyone noticed how religionists redefine apostasy so that it can never apply to them?.
according to religionists an apostate is anyone who leaves the watchtower.. according to god however an apostate is anyone who follows the watchtower.. this is an act spiritual unfaithfulness or prostitution - following a pseudo-mediator or visible golden calf instead of the greater moses namely jesus..

Does God require us to "measure up", or is that just another Watchtower lie?
by Fernando inaccording to paul no one can, and no one has to.. god imputes a right and clean standing to anyone who follows jesus instead of the watchtower.. any lgbt who follows jesus is 100% right and 100% clean?
anyone who follows the watchtower is 100% wrong and 100% dirty?
yup!

Separation of Church and State v. First Reformation - please help
by Fernando ini am trying to research and better understand these two concepts from an applied and practical perspective.. any suggestions, ideas and advice on better understanding this will be much appreciated.. my thinking at this point:.
first reformation - 1500's (religion vs society).
the first reformation began as an ill conceived attempt to reform the irreformable namely religion.

EXCLUSIVE NEW LIGHT! How to calculate the length of the overlapping generations - SCRIPTURALLY!
by agonus inok, so the one scripture that supports the "overlapping generations" doctrine is the one about joseph having brothers, right?.
well, then, logically, if that scripture buttresses the glorious new light - and we know how long that "generation" was - we should be able to calculate the date for armageddon, no?.
allowing for a maximum period starting with the year of the birth of the eldest brother (reuben if i'm not mistaken), and ending with the year of the death of the youngest (benjamin, correct?

What is SIN?
by Fernando inonce again i tried to post a brief reply on another thread, but i started sharing some of my exit story, and it turned into a thesis, again... darn.... it seemed better to spare the thread and start a new topic.... .
when jesus was on earth the only sins he was preoccupied with and constantly spoke against were religious sins (matt 15 and 23 esp v15).. religionists however to hide their sins are preoccupied with and constantly speak against sexual sins plus a whole laundry list of do's and don'ts.
their legalism and moralism actually lead them away from god and his "plan of salvation" as embodied in the "good news".. this is why governing body member raymond franz left religion/ists.
