  American Pit Bull attacks American jdub in Oz

  this jdub was out walking his two dogs when attacked by a pit bull, killing one of his dogs and causing injuries to his hand.

  he was from texas and now lives in melbourne.

  he comes from a very well known us jw family (uncles, grandparents in brooklyn, other uncles c/o & d/o, w/t life story of family...).

  Canvassing for the Convention?

  just had to nice jws at my door trying to place a brochure about the convention.

  this has probably been covered here before, i know the memorial attendance drive but not the convention one?

  i told them i am an inactive witness and their smiles quickly turned to frowns and said yeah, sorry i'm done, no thank you.

  in this public edition of the watchtower it uses an illustration of a piece of furniture to help explain why jehovah tolerated polygamy.. but the more interesting point i thought was the reasoning in the first paragraph in the second column about jehovah warning his people when they strayed from his standards.

  it says "however, he knew in advance that his people would often fail to obey even the most basic of commands, such as the one against idolatry.

  (exodus 32:9).

  The story of Jesus and the Egyptian god Horus

  does anyone know anything about the story of horus and the similarities with jesus and his life story.

  from what i have read on the internet (trying to stay with valid sources) and can't deny the similarities.

  has anyone studied this situation?
