i'm not sure how many of you are interested in this or how many of you have been following it, but i have been right from when i first heard about it a few years ago.. they were each sentenced 25 years and 26 years for the murder of british student meredith mercher, but after a dramatic appeal, today, they have had their sentences overturned and have been given an immediate release, because the evidence suggesting that they were guilty was not strong enough to support that verdict.. i always thought them both to be innocent, and this is true justice for the poor girl and guy after being locked up for 4 years for somehting they did not commit, however, it does still leave an unsolved riddle.... who killed meredith mercher if not these two?.
the strange thing is, amanda knox apparently originally claimed she heard screams from meredith and hid in a different room in the house whilst it happened, but that stroy had changed to "i was never there" which is what i think too, given the facts.. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3850483/amanda-knox-is-not-guilty-of-killing-meredith-kercher.html.

Amanda Knox comes off as a spoiled brat and very self-centered. For her sake, I hope she was wrongly charged. Otherwise, Karma will have something waiting for her.

I was intrigued and scared of that song at the same time. Like you, I now have a different opinion of it. Great group! I saw them during my senior year in high school.
the bible shows that jehovah enables his servants to understand his purpose in a progressive manner.

4:18; john 16:12) thus, the prophets who were divinely inspired to write portions of the bible did not understand the meaning of everything that they wrote.
Why would God show his servants the truth in a 'progressive' manner? If the truth is from God, then it would be right the first time. God wouldn't change his mind.

I was raised a witness from the early age of 8. Got baptised and 13 and bought the religion hook, line and sinker. I am now 43, been out for a little over 3 years. Truly can't see myself in another organized religion. I am agnostic.

a workmate was telling me she had a friend who became a jw years ago and one day the jws hubby was doing some work at my workmates house when jws started preaching she thought it funny that despite being a jw himself he was actually hiding from the jws !
i told her that an awfull lot of jws are a little embaressed about their beliefs and dont even enjoy actually knocking on doors and you will find they usually walk very slow and i explained the reasons for this (handing in a slip of paper recording the amount of hours ) and then i went on to explain about shunning , the crap child protection policies , victims of domestic violence told to pray to be a better wife etc.., satan and demons on the internet telling lies !
she told me that because her jw mate is so down to earth and gets drunk etc she had thought being a jw must be ok really !
Good for you! I also use every opportunity I can to 'witness' to others about the JW's. Especially, the shunning practice.
i could never understand how some who don't follow some of the moral restrictions in the jw faith, are strong against celebrating the .
religious holidays such as christmas, and easter etc.. do you celebrate the holidays knowing some of their origins?.
Yes and I love it!! The origin of each holiday isn't important to me. Truthfully, I find it quite ironic that the JW's are so concerned over the origin and pagan roots to the holidays.
I am one who benefitted greatly from the JWfacts website. It is very well put together and backed up by the WT's own publications. Thank you JWFacts for helping me and my family out of the WT.
next sunday is the discussion of the 7/15/2011 wt article about shunning.
i am planning to stand outside of a kh on a major street with a big banner that says that the jws do indeed destroy families with their shunning policy.
i will have many copies of the article that will be discussed that day.. anyone else have any plans?.
Can you provide a link to the 07/15/11 article? I am so disgusted by this so-called religion! I wish I could get all of my loved ones out.
i've been fighting computer problems for over a week, but i finally got a new article up at ex-jw.com about the status of the court case in san francisco.. the plaintiffs will be going to court this week and possibly again in ten days.
the big issue is the bank account statements and signature files.
plaintiffs claim that defendants opened up unauthorized bank accounts and allegedly forged the then current coboe / ceo's signature.
