  I feel nostalgic and for a second, even felt like I wanted to go back.

  today, i feel nostalgic about the good time i had in the truth.

  i was thinking about the district convention coming up this summer and i have to honestly say that i miss being there and hearing about some really good bible advices.

  you know, about how to be a better husband and father, how to be balance with entertainment or money, how to priorities love and despise wickedness.

  Sorry you are conflicted. I have read Crisis of Consciience every year for the last six years. It reafirms that the JW religion is nothing more than a scam

  i dont see anyone else mentioning it, so i will: last night at the service meeting there was a letter read, from the most holy 8.. a request for more workers!

  and this one with new addendums!

  i am pulling from memory, but pretty sure i have it right (feel free to correct me if someone else hears the letter too).. .

  Great thread! Thanks for reviving it. My top three favorite "NeedsTalk"....... 3. brothers need to dry clean their suits regularly because of BO issues. 2.......we need to wash our hands after going to the bathroom so we do not spread germs. My favorite though was the talk given on bringing dirty diapers home so they do not sit in the trash for half the week and stink up the bathroom. It was 1991 and we had an influx of new babies. By the end of every meeting our main hall smelled like raw sewage because of all the dirty diapers stuffed in diaper bags and brought into the main hall.

  Excellent thread! Bald eagle's comment is spot on. It was the unbelievable hypocrisy of my elder (ex)husband that sent me screaming out of KH.

  i think there are many that stay in the religion simply because of family/friends considerations.

  My sister died

  just got word that my sister died.

  she had surgery for heart valve replacement about 5 weeks ago, and when they opened her up for it they found cancer.

  we had an extra special relationship since i was her "birthday present" when she turned 10 in 1951. this is my second sibling to die of cancer in 14 months..

  So very sorry Poppers. I know the pain of losing a close sibling. As one good friend of mine that lost 2 siblings said "You will get through this, but you will never get over it."

  why isnt the Revelation book on the jw website.

  i asked my mother( still very much active).

  she said books made from '86 and before would not be online.

  so we both looked at her physical revelation book and it was made in 88 so it should be there.

  how many here attended the "divine victory" international assembly that was held 12- 16 december in christchurch, new zealand?.

  the venue was lancaster park.

  if the truth be known, that stadium was probably a casualty of the february 2011 earthquake?.

  i sure as eggs know which types don't:.

  creative types: to do well at a creative industry one must dedicate a lot of time to developing one's talent, and as a jw one simply doesn't have time.

  since writing a story or painting a picture doesn't contribute in any way to prestudy, meetings or fs results it's considered useless anyway.
