Good for you, strawberry cake! It takes guts to do that when you know what their reaction will be.

I know that a lot of people here will not agree but........
by Wordly Andre inok, not to change anyones religious beliefs or anything but just because in my weird head!
i think it would be funny to protest at the assembly, with a bunch of people wearing funny halloween costumes of all sorts.
i know that a lot of people here are against that sort of thing, but i want to do it just because it will funny.

"That with one being a Smurf holding a sign saying "I walked out of a KH...so should you!"
ROTFLMAO
I was just taking a swig of water when I read that. Now it's all over my desk! -

Is age just a number? 30 year difference between partners....
by LouBelle ina collegue of mine, a mother of 19 year old twins is distressed.
her one son has been going out with an older women (this came to light when the other twin was sick and tired of all the lying going on) the truth is that the older women turns out to be her very good friend, who is now 49 years old.
let's call her madam x.. madam x is a very '"sweet"" woman - i know her, as i used to work with her.

WingCommander: "I am 28. My wife is 45. She graduated high school when I was not even 1 year old!"
My partner graduated high school a year before I was born! I'm 27 and my partner is 46. It works for us because we have common interests and a similar outlook on life, finances, etc.

for "born-ins"
by Mandette indoes anyone remember being a little kid and being forced to sit through those 2 hour meetings?
specifically being made to listen to graphic accounts of whatever country that was going through horrific persecution.
(or any other horrors you might remember).

Mandette: "I thought that the police were going to come yank me out of bed."
Yeah, I remember worrying about that, too. I was always terrified of police when I was a kid. And worrying about persecution and imagining the worst tortures people could inflict on me was foremost in my mind when I was little.
It's so nice to be free!

I love my job as the editor of a weekly newspaper. I'm in a small enough town that it doesn't consume every waking moment, and I have a great boss who is more than happy to let me do whatever I want as long as I get my job done. In fact, if he knows I'm planning to book off early for a weekend, he usually nags me to go until I finally give up and leave.

"I found out today from a witness friend that my sister is in town from today until sunday (she lives about 6 hours from here). Sydney district convention. Obviously she doesn't intend to have contact."
Perhaps your witness friend can help you arrange to "accidentally" have contact. I really enjoyed the panicked and bewildered look on my grandma's face at my brother's wedding a couple of weeks ago (I was shocked to even be invited). I noticed that she was ignoring me, so I hugged her and began making small talk. She did respond when I asked questions, but wasn't very comfortable. I'm such a bitch sometimes!
Seriously, I know how hard it is to deal with shunning. I'm proud of you for sending that message to your siblings; I let mine shun me without having the guts to stand up to them. Good for you, Rob! -

Welcome, MTM. It's always great to see a fresh face, er, avatar here. (Oh, wait, you don't have one yet.)
"My veiw of life has become so much more positive now that I am not living with the fear that I may not make it into the New World, it truly gives you a new perspective being free."
I'm a third-gen JW, too, so a lot of my family shuns me, but that freedom is a breath of fresh air of which I never tire. Hang in there! -

Why does the WTBT Society exist?
by Princess Daisy Boo inthey don't really have the truth so it can't be that?
unless "they" at the top truly believe it - do you think they do?.
is it for monetary gain?

A@G: "I have met most of the GB... they seem to fully believe in what they do... the are completely deluded and are Captives of a Concept..... although the power, the good life, and the adulation (worship-like) must really go to their heads... but they see evrything through watchtower colored glasses..."
I don't get how that's even possible. It seems like someone high up must know that it's a scam...
