  Society letter read to all congregations July 28,2006 !!

  i got news of this from the jw grape vine today that at the meeting on thursday(yesterday) there was a letter read to all the congregations from the society.

  for the first time the society says in the letter to prepare for great tribulation and to have plenty of emergency supplies in case of a disaster.

  this has shaken the up the jws it seems.

  I'll stock up... papers, lighters, wine, beer and booze.

  Yeah...I'm with lawrence. I'll add in all the weed and oxicodone I can get my hands on. Might as well be spacing out when the end comes.

  Oh look...there won't be many elders, MS's, CO's, DO's, Governing Body members and many, MANY JW's on that new earth. Hmmmmm...Now there's some food for thought!

  Always, ALWAYS feeling that you weren't measuring up. That kind of guilt over years and years does nasty things to your brain. I believe half of mine is now dead and gone. Oh well...at least I'm living proof that you can live with only half of a functioning brain...sort of. Now where did I put those pills?????

  My dear...don't let any type of guilt get the better of you. You are not guilty of anything...especially since you tried to reconcile. Hopefully you can find some sort of peace knowing that you tried. I am so sorry for your loss. My mother, who shuns me, is in her mid 80's and I know the day is coming when she'll pass away. I won't be invited to the funeral...if I'm even told about it I will be surprised. So I have kind of psyched myself up for that when it occurs. But you are facing this reality now...and I can only imagine how much it hurts. I hope you have someone to hold you close and let you know that you are loved. Remember there is a whole community of people on this forum who may not know you personally...but can most likely relate to your situation. Hang on. Just hang on.

  it made me think, reading comments on carpenters thread....... what music did you throw out when you were a witness??.

  i got rid of all my led zeppelin (satanic backtracking and all that baloney).

  what if the watchtower announced that they are not god's sole channel of spiritual truth?

  along with this admission, would come an apology for all of the misleading and damaging predictions and past teachings.

  what if they also dumped the disfellowshipping arrangement, as currently practiced, and allowed for respectful disagreement and disent, on issues such as blood transfusions and military service?
