  what were your first impressions?

  i found this site through besty (husband) once my faith had crumbled after reading www.jwfacts.com.

  I found this site when I googled my CO's name. Apparently a lot of other people here had the same opinion of him that I do. From there it's been a huge education about the WTBTS ever since.

  this is a baseball tribute thread.

  please post anything and everything about baseball memories, the game, your favorite team, players opinions on the designated hitter rule.

  baseball brings back the magical feelings of childhood and tagging along with my older siblings to the little league games played at the parks my mother worked when she was the art director for mobile parks and recreation.

  I can't stand to watch baseball on TV. But I LOVE it in person! Drinking a beer, eating a hot dog, and shooting the sh*t while a game goes on in the background. And the cheap seats are the best- the fans are rowdier and more into it!

  Most overrated movies

  i apologize in advance to those i may offend, but are some movies i've always thought were way overrated:.

  apocalypse now- a three-hour boat ride (four if you watch the director's cut) with occasional shooting.

  Here's two movies that may not be over-rated, but personally I've never been able to stay awake through them: "The Hunt for Red October" and "National Treasure". One of them stars an actor who has become a caricature of himself- Nicolas Cage. When we first saw the previews for "Gone in Sixty Seconds" me and my buddy just doubled over laughing at his exaggerated overacting.

  District Overseer comments at CA reveal GB out of answers...

  so 2 weeks ago i went to my 2 day ca.. this had lots of interesting tid-bits, like the wt summary of the generation change.

  the conductor said that if we were listeing to jesus speak we would have known he was speaking about us!

  then he followed with "and thats probably what they understood too" - i couldnt believe he actually said probably.. anyway, at the end of sunday the do came about and went into a bit about all the things the org has done for us.

  This speaker reminds me so much of my PO. One time he made me feel guilty for treating the meetings like a social gathering (it wasn't aimed at me in particular- at least I don't think). "After all, there is more to the meetings than that," he said. "It's God's spirit-directed organization!" I agreed at the time. But now I realize- hey it's just a social gathering!

  Meetings cut down to twice a week....

  i heard that they are planning to cut meetings down to twice a week and the book study will become part of the school and service meeting...any one else hear about this?.

  District Conventions are awful if you have kids. (Learn why!)

  i know that many of you have not been to distric conventions in some time, but what i am about to describe is a recent trend.. 1. more people than seats.

  for the past six or seven years, they've tried cramming too many congregations into one convention hall at one time.

  in many cases, if you do not get to the convention more than an hour before the program starts and you need more than a couple of seats, you cannot find seats.

  Maybe I could persuade my wife to just go half days for the sake of the baby. (Yeah right that'll happen.) Then we could spend the rest of the day doing something that's actually enjoyable!

  a couple of movies I don't get

  i watched "children of men" a couple of nights ago.

  it was pretty interesting, but i have to say i didn't get it completely.

  maybe because i missed the beginning.

  yeah primitive genius i actually havent seen fight club in years... so maybe my opinion would be different now... i just know that it was completely different than what the previews portrayed it to be...

  since i'm not going to sunday meetings anymore, i had some extra time on my hands.

  this is what i did with it today.

  i blatantly ripped off wasanedleronce's blank wt covers and bent them to my own evil purposes..
