As an Ex JW now, how would you react if you met your Bible study conductor?
by EverApostate ini was a jw for 11 years , came to know ttatt and wrote my disassociation letter 5 years ago.
since then i had been an atheist and trying all i can to spread awareness for “still in” members.
my wife and mom are still jws and i do get along with them perfectly.

Human origins pushed back further into the past
by fulltimestudent inscience is a self-correcting journey.
any error in thought will be corrected by later research or discoveries, so the common concept that we humans (homo sapiens) developed something like 200,000 years ago is undergoing a major correction.
the discovery of fossilised bones of at least five individuals have been recovered from an old mine in morocco.

no none at all, it didn't take me long to lose it all either, perhaps a couple of years, although my personnel circumstances did change very drastically in the space of a couple of months; moving away, new job, divorce and separation, birthdays and Xmas celebrations never bothered me and I've even eaten black pudding! my old adage is "time is certainly and healer but the emotional scars will always be there" just try and enjoy your life. I'm off to vote shortly also.

1914 is the Key !
by Phizzy ini thought this deserved its own topic.
it is a thought that occurred to me as i read the wt rag that i took to be polite.. it is the public one about the 4 horseman, and it struck me that they are still 100% reliant on their false 1914 doctrine to hang everything on.. if 1914 is proved wrong, what can the credibility of their doomsday message hang on ?.
we all know how to disprove the old 2520 years nonsense, but they seem to at last be hiding that, and simply claiming that world events prove jesus slung the devil out of heaven in 1914.. so, what has that old devil done since 1914, 103 years ago ?.

their date setting so called prophecies are most easy to debunk, it is really that simple, even someone who has never been a jw could debunk them with just a few hours of research, mentioning the Babylonian way of record keeping where a single visit to the British Museum can prove this, yes you may end up in an argument going around in circles but I've found in recent years they simply do not have the tools to back it up and they admit defeat and change the subject! there is not one single shred of biblical evidence to support it,the 1914 date is so utter ridiculous it is laughable that they still cling to it but they have to otherwise their whole house of cards will fall down. I remember having a debate with my own mum some years back about it including the "generation" that would not pass away etc and this was even before the "overlapping" doctrine was introduced, she was so vehemently angry with me she asked me to leave her house and never come back, how stupid and foolish was she?

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

I dont know if I mentioned this but my old man (elder) told me not to talk about my holiday at the KH( 2 blissful weeks in Corfu returned brown as a berry) as it was upsetting to those who couldn't afford one

are they still dying because of refusing blood transfusions? yes
do they still shun? yes
do they still believe they are only group on Earth selected by god to do his will ? yes
do they still believe of the destruction of billions and a new world in which they will only reside on? yes
do they still believe we are close to the end? yes
same shite some re-branding, dumbing down ,less meetings , less printed matter, an embrace of technology , are they still a dangerous high control group that the world should be warned off to stay well clear of? YES!

Breaking News, London: Van Ploughs into Pedestrians
by Simon in3 male passengers then get out and start stabbing / shooting people according to early reports.. but it could have been anyone for any reason, who knows, possibly jehovahs witnesses or amish.. maybe we'll never know the reason but i'm sure there will be people praying for those involved and hashtags.. thus solving the problem once and for all.. just "life in a big city" according to the muslim mayor of london, sadiq khan..

very worrying indeed, I live in London , 3 attacks in as many months and a precedent seems to have been set, could there be weekly attacks now?

Last of the big conventions?
by NikL inhad lunch with some friends during today's waste of time convention.
they spoke of the rumor floating around that the jws will move away from these big regional conventions and have them at assembly halls and tie them in to kingdom halls.. they seemed to believe it was a pretty reliable source.. i think it would be too good to be true but who knows?.
anyone else heard this rumor?.

I see this happening and have been saying this for years, look at the turn out at the stadium in San Diego, its often said that these conventions are a money spinner for them but how on earth can they fleece their flock when there are mere handfuls in attendance, the cost of renting that facility must be eye watering, I expect to see wholesale circuit assembly halls being sold off in the UK next, apathy levels are at a peak now from the R&F they know it , we know it.
