Challenging JWs at Cult Carts

if i have time i always talk to jws when i see a cult cart.. they are in a public forum promoting a harmful ideology therefore they are fair game.

having said that, the individual jws on the trolley are not the enemy so i think it's better to keep it as friendly and non-confrontational as possible.. being realistic no jw is going to admit they are wrong because of something we say to them on the street but don't underestimate the long-term effect of doubts.. so what are your ideas for how to approach them?.

personally i like to use the literature on the cart.

I tried a different tact today at a town centre I go to sometimes, a lady and young guy standing at the cart , I picked up the mag

me " they seem very thin these days I remember when they were far thicker"

lady "yes they are smaller but they go straight to the point with a wonderful hope for the future"

me "really? I remember reading about the generation that saw 1914 and the creators promise that would be completed by the 20th century, do you remember that?

her "yes I do"

me "well we are still waiting , I bid you a good day".

that was that, the rag was dumped a couple of hundred metres away.

i don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.

basically, everything must change.

we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

My brother died last night

i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.

it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.

there were six of us, now only four.

Availability Crisis of Conscience.

most of us are desperately waiting for the availability of a legal crisis of conscience.

deborah dykstra provided us with two updates.

on december 12, 2015 there was a clear statement about the copyright which stopped all illegal activity in spreading electronic versions & prints.. finally, she promised a new update by or before may 6.. so far no new update.

lots of things have gone wrong, I reckon another 2 years down the line and there will still be no CoC, a pathetic mess and a farce when you consider the amount of genuine offers she has had to offer print runs until the official transfer of copyright was completed, yet still nothing.

I'm getting baptized

i know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.

my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.

i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

you can pull out with seconds to go, its very very easy to pull out far easier than the hassle of the build up to it.

Are the anointed really "lovely people"?

i've personally never met any of those who claim to be anointed but the other jw's who have are always unanimous in their praise of how lovely and what wonderful people they are.

and i don't mean the gb i mean common or garden anointed.

i was told that when they speak about being in heaven that they almost "seem to glow".. is this right?

probably even worse then the normal R&F, disturbed at the extreme, holier than thou in general, nothing great about any of them at all, generally deceptive lairs and very reluctant to share the way they got the calling and the infusions of holy spirit they are supposed to be getting, generally I found them con artists,charlatans, basically liars and quite evil.

i'm a postman with the royal mail and was assigned to train a new starter yesterday.

my line manager introduces me to 'dave', within seconds my jw radar was on maximum!

in his mid to late 30's, politely spoken and with that haircut - i just knew it.. the post he'd applied for was saturdays only, he said he did a lot of volunteer work.

JW_Rogue the problem with the psychology behind this and and the massage that the GB hopes will stir the subconsciousness of the R&F is that like most of the lunacy that spews forth from them these days has the complete reverse effect and the GB yet again end up with egg on their faces making complete ass' of themselves.They still continue to haemorrhage members and apart from a bit of growth in 3rd/4th world nations this nonsense only seals the fate of many many more, the R&F are just as materialistic and enjoy the trappings of a nice comfortable lifestyle and a disposable income then any other member of the general public. Have sisters stopped wearing spandex work out leggings in the gym? have jw men stopped wearing tight pants? have the R&F stopped searching questionable online content after warnings that "we" are protecting them? I would answer a NO to all of those issues, how many of the R&F especially from the late teens to thirty somethings would have been silently laughing inside and cringing to themselves when that vid was played to them for the first time? Anyone see the theme from the movies The Wanderers and Assault of Precinct 13?
