What's The First "Worldly" Thing You Did When You Exited The Cult?
by pale.emperor inwhen you finally and officially exited the cult, whether it be by disfellowshipping, disassociating or fading - what was the first things you did that are considered "worldly"?.
for me, it was like crash landing on another planet that looked like earth but was completely different to the earth i knew.
i wanted to learn everything that i thought i already knew.. first things i did:.

nothing out of the ordinary I was a fully active double lifer , I visited a working girl in the weeks leading to my baptism and dabbled in prostitution during the all the time I was active and married I'm ashamed to say.

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?
by HereIgo ini have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.
all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.
thoughts?.

I always found talks given about the "snares of materialism" by one particular elder in our cong who was very wealthy, brand new BWM parked outside the KH, nice big house, holidays abroad etc, very hypocritical indeed, call me old fashioned.

RIP dad, who introduced me to this fairytail of everlastin life and paradise :(
by Frezia inless than 5 hours ago my great dad fell asleep the last time :( still in a bit of a shock and sad that i will not see him again...i promised myself that once he is here no more, i will somehow make my move out of this organisation who kept us all captive believing in a fantasy of an everlasting life :( i am in a tricky situation, since raised as jw, still in, married to an active jw, and pretty sure that all in my social and family circle will turn their backs on me if i finally say goodbye to a fairytail ;(.

sorry for your loss Frezia, many of us have been there, lost my father an elder in 2005, died in good standing to them, same my mum in 2015, had all the promises of never going to high school the work place etc, the creators promises to be fulfilled by the end of the 20th century etc, pathetic isnt it?

London K.H.'s - Which Ones Will Be Sold Off?
by The Searcher inaccording to the org's website, various congregations will be moving in with other congregations, effective january 1st 2017.
(i've only highlighted a couple) in all probability, their own k.h.
is/has been sold.

to think that all of these KH's at one time over the years would have either been extensively and expensively refurbished or would have been new or "quick builds" remember how much they used to boast about how great they were and how much evidence it showed of the "holy spirit" in blessing them? if these sell offs are to happen these KH's are all likely to be sold off to property developers for housing, there will not be any evidence at all in the years that pass that there was ever KH's there at all, so much for their earthly chariot moving at speed and how great the need was etc, laughable in reality.

What's Is The Goal Of This Religion?
by pale.emperor inwhat's is the goal of this religion?.
i mean, if it's for money they could do a lot more like other religions do: tithing, paying for prayers from the gb, selling "miracles", selling "blessed" items, selling courses.. if its for power then what are they hoping to do with that power?
they dont seem to do anything.

its a scam, has been for decades, the non jw's that reap the rewards of this former printing giant and now a real estate speculator still pile up the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, they have no goal, there was never any goal, The Big A will never come, every single one of us/them will die, any more to say?

"many destroyed at Armageddon will will be raised and given a chance of life!" This is compete madness, this guy is either a terrible liar, has a very vivid imagination or not in control of his mental faculties, the insanity of the resurrection is bad enough billions upon billions in times past to be resurrected to a paradise Earth, but a second resurrection!! Never heard anything like that before and I've heard some garbage spewed from them.

Reflecting on my Disfellowshipping
by kairos intoday is the day.. i was baptized as one of jehovah's witnesses on march 25th 1989.disfellowshipped for admitted apostasy today, september 10th 2015.. what an amazing story we all share.
how did we get involved with this group and think this was the best way of life?.
i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

every day that passes should be a celebration in leaving this evil cult, I like was baptised in the late 1980's although I was a born in I had a "walkabout" phase and began to think they may have the answers, I really never paid any attention to their doctrines and how flawed they were, I was more absorbed by the love bombing and social scene, I also married a jw that ended in divorce by 1995, I was done with them and my last meeting was in 1993, thankfully not too many years wasted but the mental scars still remain. Its great to read testimonies like this and wonderful you both left together
