I have had some conversations with ex-jw women and I am more than a little concerned at how, if a female, is treated in committee meetings. It sure seems (I experienced this when I was young) that the elders have a commonality in trying to create such shame and sexual guilt (especially where none is deserved) that it is beyond abuse. I know there are a lot of former elders here. Does the society train the elders to think like dirty old men in their questioning. Are there training lessons for this at elder schools or elder books?

I'm a born in. I believe my mother had post partem depression. I think most who join are looking for direction in their lives. Want definitions. Want someone to tell them what and how to live. A lot of emotional wrecks and mental issues. If someone believes the common misconception that the bible is Gods Word they can be misled.

by punkofnice inonly 6 very thin magazines per year and then recycling the propaganda within.. how are your local congregations spinning this?.
i heard a local congo-abongo-i is launching a campaign™ to place as amny magazines as possible in the month (this or next...not sure..sources sketchy).
which i find a bit strange.

Hoping I can stay

Is the Bible truly inspired?
by MrRoboto inso i was reading the book of daniel, starting with chapter 4 (nebuchadnezzar's famous tree chopping/banding dream where the 7 times is introduced) but i noticed that when you don't cherry pick verses and just read straight thru - it really seems like some children's book that was poorly written.
even though the borg says that this book as written by daniel, chapter 4 is clearly written by "king nebuchad·nezzar to all the peoples, nations, and language groups dwelling in all the earth" after the tree chopping business.
) of the rest of the chapters seem to be written in 3rd person (odd, if you are writing about your experiences).

People get duped in "Christianity" because of the false idea that the bible is the word of God. People are raised with this lie and it becomes their "default" mechanism. This sets you up to be led by this ring in your nose depending on your life situation . (Usually hard times that you have no currant answer for) then you are vulnerable for Christian preditors just waiting to throw a few scriptures with warnings if you don't take heed. People really know that the Catholic Church decided which ancient books to include in the present cannon. Making sure nothing was included that would question church dogma. Dogma, politics and power decided what would be in "Gods Word".....God had nothing to do with anything. It's ALL man made.

This is a big topic for me as far as the JWs go. It is just another control mechanism to deny people their own personal and normal reactions. JWs do not know how to grieve because their loved one really isn't DEAD, they are just SLEEPING, like they are on a long vacation. This is really harmful to supress normal feelings. No wonder JWs are so sickly. You are so owned by the man made borg you cannot be you under any circumstances.

JW Rumor: End of the Traveling Overseer

they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.
they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?

It sure seems the borg is just a shadow of it's former self. My god, we studied for 5 meetings a week, repeatedly studied from Gen. To Rev year, after year, after year. Plus all the mags and books. Now they play on their ipads. How could they know anything? This rebranding is just a stripdown and money being socked away somewhere (maybe invested in Trump/Jerad industries.
Who knows and more importantly, who cares. The damage is done.
