Did YOU Actually Believe That You Would Never Die?
by minimus ineven though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..

Well, "Perhaps" I would, if I kept doing more, studying meaningless crapola more, went to all of those boring meetings, sat for hours and hours at ass-emblies....but just "perhaps".

Oh you are all so YOUNG!!!!! In grade school I was really into folk music. The song "He's got the whole world in his hands" came out and I loved it. Untill my mother said "The whole world in lying in the hands of the wicked one". Jeez, pop my balloon.

BORN-INS: If you could go back and Change this.
by hirotaka ina question primarily derected to born-ins....doesn't matter if you're still in or out.. if you could go back in time, let's say to the time you were a teenager, before being baptised.. do you regret not telling your jw parents that you just couldn't do the jw thing anymore and that you wanted out?
i think about this often that it may have worked out much better not to get baptized, married to a jw, and have to tow that line for decades, feaful to loose family and friends.. in the end that's what happened to me anyway, five years ago and now i have the life i should have had my whole life.. what are your thoughts and feelings on this?.
cheers.

My mom basically "gave" me to the cong. specifically a married couple who studied with me. They would take me to assemblies, in service, and finally said to me (at 16) "who will survive Armegeddon? The remaining 144,000 and the Great Crowd. How does Jehovah know you are one of the Great Crowd? If you are baptized." Okay there was an assembly in Spokane and they took me and I got baptized without telling my mom. She was really pissed off when she found out. Now I feel I was bullied into this. I don't think it makes any difference about life beyond death. It's pretty irrelevant to anything unless you are a JW. My brothers were never baptized. My mother felt that it was great as she could bring them into the New World. She was very upset to the second she died that I had left. SHE judged me because I was baptized. This was a tough situation. One of my brothers had been in and out of prison and had killed someone with a hammer. My other brother was a lifetime Marine. Guns, guns, guns. But I was THE bad guy.

I left when my now ex husband was outed. I was invited to ONE elder meeting. At that meeting an elder asked my ex "was there something your wife would or wouldn't do that caused you to turn to men?" WWWWHHHHHAAAAATTTT? The end. I was gone.

Should not those who protect "Mentally Diseased" be outraged?
by Greybeard inso lets say we are "mentally diseased"... where is our protection from this hate speech and mental abuse?
there are all kinds of mental institutions around the world.
edit- maybe we should all go check ourselves in saying, "jehovah, the great physician has called us "mentally diseased apostates!

I'm trying to remember if Jesus said this. Paul was the first hijacker of what Jesus taught and brought his own twist on things. This is pretty disgusting. They don't seem to be able to learn a lesson.

My Father passed away during the night
by jwfacts indad was a great man, great, despite the religion.
he was powerful, tall and intelligent, yet humble and kind.
he was an introvert, and a circuit overseer.

When my mom died she had written down she demanded "no memorial or funeral!!!" So I didn't face going to that. I actually thought that if I did I would want to speak (throw a wrench in it) and say good things about her but maybe one statement that her joining this group destroyed our family. Please let us know how it goes. I'm glad you had time to talk to him. And yes what about his wife?

I agree with Black Sheep. I wouldn't give them a letter. Let them do what they want...like spit into the wind. They had NO power unless YOU give it to them. Hopefully the younger guy will let your info sound down and he will begin to think and reason. I just walked away,, I never sent a letter, I put a 6ft chain link fence around my property with a lock. My friends call it my "witness protection program" (actually the fence was to protect my pets). I added this sign that is a copy of a used target practice that says, Nothing in this house is worth dying for. The last time and elder came by I did talk to him. I gave him several reasons why I felt the jws. He returned and sat out in his Humvee flashing his lights into my house. I just had a drink. He put a note on my fence. He wrote "I've been thinking about what you said all week. Carl" If he started to climb the fence it would have freaked me out. Thankfully he didn't. He actually is a very good man but he has a dominent wife and a really crazy daughter (in her 40or 50s) living with him. He can't get out.
You don't have to please them or do anything for them. Just blow them off as they have you.

Christian Pastor claims "sex demons" made him molest girl....are you sick of "the Devil made me do it?"
by Witness 007 inthis born again minister met up with a teenage girl in the congregation, gave her some alcoholic drinks then raped her...he then beat her and set her on fire to cover his crime, but she survived horribly disfigured.
during the police interview he claimed he was "under the influence of sex demons.".
i'm so over dumb ass christians putting the blame on satan for there crimes...is this the 1500 century or what?.
