Wow! That is great. How long did your process take? I left....dissappeared quickly. But once in a while I would attend some meeting at another hall. Every time pushed me farther away. I went to the memorials for my mom but I realized that it was such a waste of time and giving my mom false hope.

I am out (finally) - done with the Witnesses
by Anony Mous inhi, long time no see.
i am finally out of the borg.
had a talk with an elder-friend-family member today who said i should just do it if that's what i want to do, and my wife says if that's what i want to do that she's fine with it.

Kaballah - Is it a religion, a cult, a philosophy or what?
by freetosee ina friend of mine says kabbalah is not religious, but rather a scientific approach to matters.
i me it seems to have strong religious characteristics and the people i have meat seem very cultic.
i must admit that i have not looked deeply into kabbalistic teachings.. what is your assessment?.

God exists? God doesn't? God is a different concept? Convince me!
by punkofnice ini am in a spiritual void at the moment after a year out of the borg and 50 years in.. i'd like to hear 'brief' evidence for the existance or non existance of god/s without an argument between members here.. i'd like to get fresh view points as mine is now so critical it's telling me to be an agnostic or atheist.
why?
i am in want of evidence, not just words from a copy/paste troll & no links.. i just want to open up to new possibilities but with evidence to support it not just 'faith'..

I have just completed two past life regressions hypnotherapy. So far...nothing. I would like for there to be a god but I am leaning towards agnostic.

Does anyone recognize this ex-JW testimony from WNFJ convention?
by peace_lily ini'm trying to find the testimony of a lady who spoke years ago at the witness now for jesus convention (i believe in pennsylvania).
she mentioned that her husband (i assume not a witness) came out as a homosexual during the years the org did not consider such to be grounds for divorce.
the elders advised her she didn't have grounds for divorce.

I don't know about this woman but my story is the same as hers except when The Committee asked my husband "was there something your wife would or wouldn't do that caused you to turn to men" was my personal evacuation.

Since You've Left The Organization Have You Turned Into A "Bad" Boy or Girl?
by minimus inthe witnesses say that if you leave the religion you will become a very vile person.
you will probably get vd.
you will get into drugs and booze, your life will go to hell.. personally, i've been pretty much the same guy although i would now be viewed as a "fornicator".

Being indoctrinated from birth is a huge disadvantage at being able to access common sense. You just accept each layer of indoctrination as you age and that phrase when I first heard it "cognitive dissonence" rang true and loud. At some level you know something isn't right but you don't have the shovel to dig thru the crap. I went to the elders (it's just what you do) when you face a brick wall and things are so black and white you just do it. You are trained to do it. Pavlov's dog. You think they actually have some secret knowlege and secret answers they get at elder's schools. What a crock.

What Is It That Really Troubles the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by orangefatcat inwell i think what worries them the most is that more and more witnesses are becoming free thinkers and that is troubling them, it worries them that thinking freely will cause them to seek answers elsewhere and that is the last thing the gb wants.
they have pulled the reins so tight now how much tighter can they pull before many witnesss crack under their yokes.
what is your thoughts on this matter.. .

Yes, the internet. AND OMG when did they let an ETHNIC person into the GB. When I was growing up they were all German Americans.

What's The Worst Thing About Being A Witness?
by minimus infor me, a jehovah's witness does not have a real life!
jw's are like trained soldiers.
they could be fervent or lax or happy or unhappy in their role but they are trained to drone on like stepford wives.. what an utter waste of an existence being a jehovah's witness!.

for me it is two things. One is having no reference in time. Since there were no "celebrations" there was nothing to say remember that xmas when we did blah blah? (of course we never did blah blah anyway). I have a hard time with time. I also have a hard time with motivation. As a witless you just did the same ol over and over. Nothing to look forward to except seeing people die horribly and then living like an automaton FOREVER. Looking forward for an eturnity of post traumatic stress. I just feel stuck getting thru each day and am glad when it's bedtime. I watch my friends vacation, camp, do stuff but I just work, take care of the animals, mow de lawn.
