i have a guy at work that is a non-denominational church goer.
he really, really loves him some jesus.
anyway, he's asking what book he should read to be able to show witnesses they are wrong.
How about any other version of the Bible, other than the NWT. That would be your best first step.

i came here as a person interested in truth and i have not been dissapointed.
Glad you appreciate us. We are glad you are among us too.
Isn't it amazing how being away from the Borg really opens our eyes to the reality of their beliefs? Why were we sooooooooooooooooooo blind? *couldkickmyself*

he was here when i got home from work.
he was helping my son put a new desk together.
i questioned him about his standing, i.e.
Thanks for all the compliments. It's really weird, how because of what the majority of us have been through, having experienced the same issues, it has actually made us all like one big family. Reminds me of a natural disaster. Everyone suddenly shows their real love concern and empathy for all. Disaster always bring people closer together. Thanks for being here....I think we are down right awesome and cool buddies.
Yeah....we've been through a disaster, a man-made one, which are always worse, because they didn't happen accidently, but rather with ulterior motives.

i was pondering this after an aa meeting the other day.
a couple of the 12 steps involve working constantly to improve our conscious contact with god.
they do not seek him out, go into a guide place to seek his guidence.
Good point Jeff!
Your posting reminded me of a comment a pastor from a local church once told a small group of people (I was among that group too) It just FLOORED me, because it was something I had NEVER heard before and my first reaction was, "OMG, he is soooooooooooooo right. That is one thing JW's never taught, believed or would even consider".
His comment:
"I will NEVER tell you people what to do, what to wear, how to behave, because when you have Jesus in your heart, you will KNOW!" WOAH......Amen brother! He couldn't have said it better.
ANY JW'S OUT THERE READING THIS? ..... THINK ABOUT IT!

i began this idea in another thread, but i thought i would continue it here.
a lot of people talk about how god will ultimately punish those who get away with murder and other crimes, in the long run.
but i was thinking:.
I'm still convinced that what Sylvia Browne says is true:
1. We lived a past life on the other side
2. We will return there upon death
3. We planned our life on this side while still on the other side
4. Our lives on this earth is all a PLANNED learning process to perfect ourself to be presented to God in a perfect state being equal to him in the sense that we were "Made in His likeness"
I don't believe it 100%, but...it makes more sense than what JW's teach and would explain n a whole lot of things, e.g. why some die so young, why others who smoke live so long, why health food nuts die young and why some survived an unbelievable car crash.

it seems that every ex-jws now has so much rage at the wt society for the way they were treated and all of the scandals.
i was wondering though if an "apostate/ex-jws" found disagreement or scandal in their new church would they picket or get on the internet or get on tv warning people about the christian church?
i can answer that question with one word no.
I personally have not remained an angry person AT ALL. I do get provoked a bit by reading some postings in here because it reminds me of what I had experienced. Otherwise, I don't even think about it. It's in my past and is pretty much forgotten until someone reminds me again.
I have been to other churches since leaving, and I have to admit, I was VERY much impressed with how they dealt with people who did wrong. They did not throw them out or shun them. They were prayed for. People put their hands on them and prayed that God would heal them of their habit or forgive them of the sin they committed. Once a person says they are sorry and prayed to God about it, the case is closed, it is then all in God's hands.
The Jdubs just go to the extreme to show total control over everyone. They want control of the world. So does Satan. Are they related?
