I swear WT leaders are sounding more like Donald Trump every day. Or is it the other way around ? In any case- WT leaders have always used the manipulation of facts, i.e. - telling lies - to promote fear within the rank & file JW's. Unfortunately it's a tactic that works all too well. We can only hope that more JW's will truly research the facts about the WT Society on the Internet and not be frightened away from the Internet by controlling, stupid, untrue rhetoric coming out of the mouths of WT Society leaders mouths

The org tightens the noose on J.W.'s thinking.
by The Fall Guy inthe manipulative use of language by the org in the upcoming circuit assembly talks is as good - or better - than any advertising conglomerate could devise.
the mind-shaping wording is clearly used in order to deter critical thinking by the sheep.. face bad reports as jesus did (9 min.
note to the speaker: explain why spiritually mature people do not become ashamed of the good news or dismayed when faced with negative propaganda.

Hey Punky, I don't think " Satan " has appeared in toast & tomatoes - " Satan " has appeared in Trump. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

My return to the WT...a terrible mistake
by JustHuman14 ini haven't posted for quite a bit, decided to share my thoughts on this one, so it is a reference topic for anyone who decides to return back to the org, knowing all about the tatt.
being way for quite long for almost 15 years and all wt's activities, i have missed quite a lot including the "new light" latest updates, i found it quite hard to follow up what was going on to the meetings.
new songs, wt broadcast, videos, internet (so wt now is in favor of the internet) cartoons, and everything seemed completely new and weird to me.. reason for going back it was the severe pressure from close family members to return back to the "truth".

JUST HUMAN- Hey my friend, I remember you very well indeed when you used to post here. I'm happy to hear that you couldn't live a pretend life within the JW organization anymore. That being said- there's no really easy way to leave. I agree with On The Way Out in that perhaps a quick exit would be better for you as you've tried the other type before.
The thing I feel that is positive with a quick exit is that it cuts through the BS of elders trying to dominate you. They can only dominate us if we ALLOW them to dominate us. If we are gone, invisible, vanish from the scene- then the elders are talking to the wind or a ghost- nobody . That's how I stopped attending in 2003.
Of course some JW family members will shun you - but you might explain to your mom that you just are depressed and have doubts, tell her it doesn't affect your love for her but that you just feel it's something that you need to do for you and take the time to reflect on things. If your mom loves you and accepts you unconditionally as my JW mom did ( she never shunned me in spite of me not attending for years up until her death ) then your mom will respect your decision and not force her views on you. If she doesn't respect your decision- oh well- then it's your mom that's messed up- not you.
Lisa Rose is correct - we cannot live the rest of our lives pleasing people who are going to find things wrong with us all the time. In fact, many times JW's will STILL look down on us once we start attending again and only socialize with us at meetings, not informally - until we " prove " our " spirituality " to them again. It's just not worth the effort to live a fake life for people who don't give a damn anyway. My 2 cents on this discussion. I wish you the best my friend, and am glad you're back ! Take care

John Davis said, " Flipper it was actually all three judges on the appeals panel. "
Proves my point even more. Either all 3 judges are child molesters- or - they are sympathetic to pedophiles they have known personally in their respective private lives to make a ruling like that. Makes me want to puke when we have idiots like this serving in high positions in this society

Absolutely disgusting that judges in this case would rule that WT Society doesn't have a responsibility to warn or protect children if a known child molester IS molesting JW kids. The fucking judge must be a child molester himself

Do You Think Jehovah's Witnesses Are Typically Ignorant People?
by minimus ini think most witnesses are simple minded.many are ignorant.
there are a lot of basically "good people "in the religion but i believe many are kind of dumb, including many elders.
do you agree with my thoughts??

In my opinion - JW's are " ignorant " in the sense that the WT Society and WT indoctrination KEEPS them ignorant. Their world view is very skewed to the point that anything that they consider important is ALWAYS WT Society or JW related. Anything outside WT cult indoctrination is looked down on.
By WT leaders insisting that they only read WT literature or the JW website to gain information- most of what JW's view as " real " or " normal " is actually - totally abnormal. Unless a JW somehow escapes to get a college education or does research outside the JW or WT mindset - they will remain ignorant and have a tunnel vision of what reality is.
I don't totally blame JW's - they're controlled and indoctrinated to think that way. Somewhat like victims of the Stockholm Syndrome being forced to identify with their captors - WT Society leaders. Sometimes it takes suffering an injustice by WT elders or getting treated like crap by fellow JW's to shake a JW up into truly thinking again with their brain. And if that happens- then they can gain critical thinking AND intelligence - and know true freedom of mind again

Over 300 DFed apparently went to a northern U.K R.C!
by Isambard Crater inthat's what i've been told by a family member (elder) who went to one of the regional conventions in the north of the u.k lately, who told me the 300 or more disfellowshipped who returned to jehovah by attending show that the end is so close, just like the final talk says..

I was told by an elder way back in the mid 1990's that about only 33 % actually return to get reinstated after getting dfed. So about 66 % NEVER go back apparently. I'm sure the numbers vary from country to country depending on how different countries respond to fear and guilt tactics from the WT Society scaring them into getting reinstated. You know : the old Chicken Little syndrome " the sky is falling ! the sky is falling ! " I.e. = Armageddon

JWorg & Scientology both have child sex abuse coverups within
by mrmagic injust watched leah remini's season 2 episode 1 about the child sexual abuse within scientology and the coverups.
the same cookie-cutter patterns as what we have with the jehovah's witnesses.
they have mention australia and i'm wondering if the australian royal commission will one day investigate scientology.

Mr. Magic - Thanks for posting this thread. My wife and I watched this season 2 first episode as well about the two women who were molested . One by her Scientologist dad , and the other by a Scientology higher up. Our hearts just ached for these poor women as they tried to compose themselves while telling their horrific stories. I think my eyes were red from crying by the time this show was over as it was SO like what happens in the JW organization with the cover-ups , the shunning due to exposing the molester, etc. If ANY of you get a chance to watch this show- I highly recommend it. It will send freaking chills down your spine. And motivate you to want to expose these cults even more ! That any of these crimes can and do still happen in many religions with perpetrators getting away with it - is just barbaric in and of itself

The Internet is worse for the Watchtower than 1975 was: here's proof.
by ILoveTTATT2 ini am translating jwfacts to spanish.
i am doing the "statistics" section.here are two graphs that show that the statistics have never been worse for the watchtower:quantity of hours required for 1 baptism: note how low it went in 1974-1975, and note that 2016 is much higher than the slump of 1978... about double, to be exact.
2016 was a historical record in this statistic (higher is worse for watchtower).. this stat is the baptisms as a percentage of the publisher average.

I agree with the opening post that the Internet has by far been the best weapon against the growth of the Jehovah's Witnesses cult. It hasn't been just one thing exposed , especially since 1995. Not only the overlapping generation fiasco, it's been everything : the Australia commission on child abuse within the WT Society, the Candace Conti child abuse case which received a lot of mainstream media attention, the no-blood transfusion deaths which are getting more publicity in media these days, and the extreme control measures put upon rank & file JW members to " trust " the WT organization - even though they don't understand what the organization is saying. The selling off of kingdom halls making it more difficult for JW's to travel 30 minutes or an hour more to meetings. It's a combination of all of these things that starts making a JW doubt. Lack of real love , etc. Any one of these things can put a seed of doubt in a JW's mind until they get to their breaking point and have to leave.
That's how it happened with me, I reached my breaking point in order to get my freedom and happiness
