  Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses

  allow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.

  i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.

  some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

  I'm not even going waste my time in trying to reason with you because on other threads you've shown yourself too prideful to accept the majority of people's opinions here on this board. So I will just say that you are deluding yourself. If you continue claiming to be a Jehovah's Witness - you are STILL mind controlled by the WT Society no matter WHAT you claim. Because in order to have an air of " respectability " among your JW " brothers " and " sisters " ( as you call them ) you still have to obey and go along with WT Society rules or you'll be kicked out of the organization. You turn time in ? You're still controlled by the WT Society. You attend meetings. You're still controlled by the WT Society. You sing songs at meetings ? You are still controlled by the WT Society. You watch cartoons at the kingdom hall ? WT Society produced the cartoons seeping into your mind. You answer at meetings ? You are still controlled by the WT game. If you are sitting at a kingdom hall- the mind controlled WT rhetoric WILL enter into your mind.

  You are just in denial about the fact that you are still supporting the WT Society. You will be a indecisive person the rest of your life unless you give your mind and emotions a break to not support a criminal organization like WT Society. Otherwise- you are guilty by way of association

  Having been born and raised up in the JW's from birth - naturally - I have a lot of resentment towards the leaders of this organization and how they suck the life and opportunities for personal growth out of people's lives. Mine included until 2003 when I exited at age 44.

  That being said my views are similar to Freemindfade- I'm not going to waste my life living in the past. I have pursued many fantastic new interests since leaving in 2003 with playing music, learned guitar and recording of songs I've written and I enjoy playing music with my son as well. My wife and I grow an organic vegetable garden and fruit garden cultivating our own food. Enjoy hiking in the woods on backpacking trips, photography , and I enjoy getting to meet new and interesting non-JW's and many ex-JW's on this board who have become great friends through the last 8 years or so. There is so much to enjoy in life when we cherish our freedom of mind and free unencumbered thinking ability. Being able to read so many non-WT books has been great as it really has enlightened me towards the real world outside of JW land.

  I live in the here and now every day. WT Society robbed enough of my years from me- I'm not going to let them take the rest of those years away. We are survivors of having been in a mind control cult, we should be proud that we escaped and have moved on with our lives. We are the lucky ones. The ones still trapped inside are the unfortunate ones. Not us. Kind of my world view in a nutshell

  Mays JW TV Broadcast/Your feedback is appreciated

  i have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.

  i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.

  i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

  WT is getting desperate for $$$$ . And greedier for more $$$$$ . I see this beckoning for money increasing. I mean who of us ever would have thought they would have JW's contribute via ATM or credit cards at assemblies ? When that started it shocked me from how I knew the organization as a young boy growing up in it. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

  REBELFIGHTER- Consider yourself lucky to be rid of this elder . What a tool. Who knows ? He may have been bopping around with other ladies as well since he wasn't honest with you. Sorry that you experienced that and I'm sorry that you have so many leeches sucking your time and energy in your life. Please know that we are here as a support to you.   was wondering in southwest area of us is there any one that would know of way to get-to-gether w/ ones possibly i knew all in growing up lets say in callifornia or nevada from the 1970s to present?

  i would love to see if any one else was able to leave because of all that was found out about this organization.

  i know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!

  but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.

  i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

  BROTHER JERAMY- You aren't being judged by anybody with any kind of power or a judicial committee. Apparently the only comparisons you can make are equated with being within the Jehovah's Witness universe. But if some of us here see manipulation of facts concerning the Jehovah's Witnesses or WT Society trying to say this organization has ANY semblance of Christianity- we WILL call you or anybody else out on that fact. If you do research regarding the no blood transfusion doctrines or the child abuse policies which are criminally horrid- you will see that the WT Society and Jehovah's Witnesses ARE indeed a criminal organization. Whether you care to admit to it or not is irrelevant. You will have to deal with the fact that you continue to support a criminal organization.

  But if you keep insulting newer members such as Lost His Mind on here- you WILL be called out on it by several of us as we care about people. And don't try to make excuses for yourself- she herself called you an A-hole. If you don't get that message coming from multiple people then you are really deluding yourself and you will not evolve as a human beyond a certain point that you're at. Honesty is a bitch, but this is my opinion

  Welcome! In July every year we have an "Apostafest" at Lake Tahoe - most camp out but some stay in motels.

  Lots of people from the west, southwest, also some from Chicago, Indiana, other points east. It is a really nice time for 2 or 3 days.
