Do you have JW-related dreams (nightmares)?

i guess it's never going away: daytime carryovers of jw-related stuff seeping into my dreams.. the majority of these dreams take place at conventions but with really weird trappings.
last night i dreamed i arrived at the site with no books, no lunch, nothing but my car keys.

CoCo- Hey man, you're not alone. I used to have a lot of dreams about the JW's. In the dreams I was always OUT of the cult trying to explain to some of my friends and relatives who are JW's about the injustices within the WT organization. Or I'd have dreams about reconnecting with my adult JW daughters since I've been shunned by them for years now. I still dream a lot and remember my dreams ( I even write my dreams down - I've now logged almost 700 pages of dreams the last 7 years ) . But I don't dream about the JW experience as much anymore as it's been over 14 years since I've been out .

The link I just posted is to Amazon regarding the book by the well known psychologist Frederick Perls Gestalt Therapy Verbatim which I highly recommend to read about dreams and their meanings. For years Perls held dreamwork therapy seminars at Esalen Institute at Big Sur, California assisting people to work through their dreams and own them. In a nutshell Perls theory about dreams is that he felt that we dream about unfinished situations in our lives that have been rattling around in our subconscious for years and these unfinished situations come out in our dreams. Negative or positive situations. I've read several of his books, and when I analyze my dreams- I tend to agree with him. When giving the seminars he would have the volunteers restate their dreams and reenact the dreams in the here and now - or restate them as if they are happening now. It was fascinating seeing what emotional baggage was deep within each of these people that would come out. But it was very helpful in assisting them to re-own this hidden part of their subconscious.

COLD today

I almost feel ashamed to say how nice it's been in Northern California with most of you U.S, citizens under an arctic cold blast attack ! But- since you asked - this winter has been very mild. Up until last night when we FINALLY got some rain- the day time temperatures have been about 60 - 65 degrees. Night temperatures high 30's . With the rain we are now down into the low 50's but the storms are warmer. High snow levels at 7,000 ft. elevation which is not good for building up the watershed.
If we don't get some colder snow out here in California at lower elevations- we are going to experience one hell of a drought next summer and extreme fire dangers. I wish you east coasters could hurl some of that snow to our Sierra Nevada mountains out here ! Hang in there my cold friends ! Hope it warms up for you soon ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

i have not been here for a long time........totally lost track of what is going on in jw land, apart from the little bits i hear from family members still in.
(they say everything is swell and that armageddon is just round the corner).... :).was hearing that anniesland congregation in glasgow has been (or is about to be) disbanded.

Welcome back Scotsman, nice to have you here ! As you can see it's pretty apparent the WT Society is in full tilt downsizing mode as to consolidate congregations and try to put more $$$ in the " kingdom " bank accounts.
That being said - they have to do that due to a couple factors. I was made aware two or three years ago that the WT Society went into default on some big construction bank loans from one of the major banks back on the east coast in U.S. ( possibly B of A can't remember ) but after that - they were blacklisted from receiving any more construction loans. And then of course since you were last on the board their have been thousands more JW child abuse lawsuit cases around the world. Not only the bad publicity of having their child abuse policies exposed publicly by the Australia commission- but WT Society is digging in and refusing to hand over court requested documents showing there are approximately 23,000 pedophiles still inside the JW organization. They stood in contempt of court to do so, even willing to pay millions of $$$$ in fines to protect the names and identity of said JW pedophiles.
So in a quick nutshell - this kind of stuff has been going down since you left. Personally- I think that with each progressing year - WT Society is getting backed into a corner tighter and tighter until eventually ( and who knows when ) the air will be squeezed out of them by authorities

Child abuse

JrJW- I understand your anger with these people and their twisted views of child abuse within their organization. I've tried talking for years to my JW relatives and adult JW daughters about it - to no avail - excuses are made " the elders disfellowship them " or " our elders reported the child molester to police " - like elders report it everywhere to police- not. Doesn't happen usually.
The WT leaders are really criminally responsible due to their faulty child abuse policies of INSISTING that elders FIRST report child abuse cases to WT legal department before ever going to the police. This creates an environment of hiding the child abuses from authorities - while aiding and enabling JW pedophiles to abuse more children !
WT Society even refused to release the names of JW pedophiles in a hidden database file of over 23,000 that they have- refused to release these names to the courts upon demand ! They were found in contempt of court and WT Society is still fighting in court- refusing to release those names of JW pedophiles ! Jehovah's loving organization at work, right ? Ick.
I'm like you JrJW- when I first found out about this hiding of child abuse within the JW organization after I exited the Witnesses - I was extremely angry also. To think that I was a part of an organization hiding child abuse- makes me shiver in my boots now. I'm glad I broke off from that criminal organization

Don't you think that some people are just better off within the org?

first of all, i must say that english is not my mother tongue (i'm spanish), so excuse me if i make any mistake.. do you think that some people simply can't cope with being outside the jws?
some of them are too worldlyphobic to be around non-jws, too dependent on a fixed set of rules in order to carry on with their lives, too dependent on the hope of paradise and resurrection, too unable to leave their personal comfort zone within the organization.

I really don't think in reality that ANY JW is " better off " in a mind control , high control cult. It's just that JW's are trained to THINK that they're better off in a mind control cult.
It's like a frog in a slow, slow boiling pot of water. It feels so warm and comfy - why would the frog want to get out ? And then in time the frog boils to death and dies. That's whats happening to every single JW who is trapped inside. Little do 100 % of JW's know that 100 % of ALL of them will someday be laying on their deathbed after " boiling in the slow boiling pot " of lies , deceptions, and false promises of the WT Society throughout their lives.
And then some of them, will lay there at the end of their life wondering " what happened ? I was supposed to live forever, not die " . These folks will get sick to their stomach when reality punches them in the gut and by then learning TTATT will do them no good- they're dead. Other JW's will lay there hanging onto their illusions until the bitter end " comforting " themselves thinking " I'm only sleeping for a little while I'll be back in a resurrection " - yet those folks are no better off than the JW who sees TTATT at the end of their life - because ? - drum roll - they STILL DIE.
Either way, whether a JW sees TTATT, or they hang onto their illusions until death, both of these JW's are screwed because they hung onto these illusions their whole life- and death provides no more time to ever see what reality and real life was ! It's like hanging onto aan old vehicle till the engine goes, the tires fall of, the cars body falls off driving on the road until you're left with nothing- stripped bare - holding the steering wheel in your hands - but going nowhere.
Anyway- kind of how I see it. I know. My folks lived in this JW illusion for about 65 years. Now they're dead. No more chance to have ever seen real life living with a free mind - they were totally enslaved their whole life. Was that better for them ? I don't think so in my humble opinion. It caused them to make really unsuccessful and damaging decisions in their life. But hey- we the living can see examples like that- and that doesn't have to be our fate. O.K. End of my take. Hey Dan- Sorry to hear about all of your awful experiences with elders and weird JW family over the years. I hear ya buddy. I can relate, been there experienced this myself. The unjust actions of elders was the catalyst that got me to exit this organization over 14 years ago. With friends, family , and elders who treat us like this- who needs enemies, right ?
Time to erase the chalk board and start anew with finding quality friends who will respect your views and not infringe on your personal boundaries. JW's are great for infringing on our private lives or personal boundaries- usually uninvited.
Truly I believe your emotional life, mental, and physical life will be much more peaceful and calm by leaving these emotional vampires behind who have been sucking the joy out of your life ! Welcome to the little forum here , glad to have you. We offer our support and friendship my friend. Many of us have been in your shoes - and we get it- we understand.
