OTWO- That was awesome ! Well done indeed ! It seems like you really followed Hassan's methods here. Your wife will have that comparison stuck inside her head- whether she consciously wants it there - or not . It was really brilliant how you were able to subtly get her to think - and then she even agreed with you on a few points. But of course the JW brain senses " danger Will Robinson, danger Will Robinson ! " and starts shutting out thoughts that might change her world view as a JW. But I guarantee- it's still inside her mind. Keep up the great work ! Thanks for sharing. It will assist in giving other posters here in your situation with a believing JW wife to see how to approach situations

Talking Janet Jackson and Religious Freedom with the Wife
by OnTheWayOut inmy recent sidewalk discussion with a couple of jw's has gotten me in the mood to say more when appropriate.so the wife and i were riding in the car and cat stevens comes on.
i mentioned to her that cat stevens left music when he was still popular and converted to islam back in the 1970's- how he was told that his music would have to be morally acceptable and he found it easier to just abandon making new music for at least 20 years.
so i didn't really remember all the details and i figured the conversation would die.

Disgusted
by Jrjw ini've on my been on this forum for a few weeks but the more i'm learning the more ill its making me feel that i believed the wts.
my 12yr old today said i've made her miss out on having a normal childhood and i felt sick when she said it coz i know it's true.
i've been telling my dad today the things i've learned that wts had lied about and about the child abuse and he's disgusted too especially coz he's missed out on 12 years of being able to celebrate birthdays with us.

JRJW- I understand how you feel frustrated at the losses you experienced while being a JW. Lost time and experiencing birthdays with your children- but one thing about it - is by living each day of your life now like it's a new beginning with new opportunities for positive experiences - the pain of those losses will with time gradually fade into the background. We've all been there too, we are here for you. Hang in there, take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Reminds me of the scene in the ten commandments movie with Charlton Heston of when he came back from the mountain with the tablets and the Israelites were all dancing around. Only with this video you have Bethelites, elders, and other allegedly " spiritual " men dancing around !
It's amazing. As others have stated - I do not recognize this religion as the same religion when I was a young boy in the 1960's. Are they sedating these people giving them freaking weird happy pills, or worse yet - Big Pharma's taken over the organization and they're all high on Valium or Vicotin ? WTF ?
I tell you- it's scary man. WT leaders might just lead these people dancing right off the cliff into their own deaths some day. And JW's will be smiling as they fall through the sky saying " I'm a sacrifice ! I'm a sacrifice ! " This is some scary shit really

QFR - Posting JW publications on a personal website/social media
by Listener inthe following is a qfr from the april, 2018 watchtower.
just a couple of articles back the organization was explaining how jws need to be encouraging and even when admonishing congregations jesus would start out with encouraging words.
we see none of this in the qfr, rather, it is heavy handed and legally incorrect.. why is it not permissible to post publications of jehovah’s witnesses on a personal website or on social media?.

This is very big. Thanks for posting this info.
Translation : Message from WT Society : " Brothers and sisters , it is NOT permissible to post publications of Jehovah's Witnesses on a personal website or on social media - because our teachings and beliefs are bat shit crazy enough on JW.org. We can control what's said there- we cannot control what's done on other personal or social media . Our spiritual food is contaminated enough as it is- it will REALLY get contaminated if Satan's media gets a hold of it ! "
Wow. WT leaders are definitely running scared though. " An online forum is not an appropriate setting for " instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed. "
Translation from WT : Because they'll change your mind about the " truth " and cause doubts to arise and we can't have that - so for the love of Jehovah - PLEASE only look at JW.org. O.K. ? " lol.
But hey- A big thumbs up to all of us EX-JW's out here ! WE should be proud of what we are accomplishing in waking people's minds up- obviously inroads are being made inside these congregations and JW's minds to start looking elsewhere for answers other than the official WT website. And that's a good thing. WT leaders hate and detest anything that they cannot control. And they cannot control access to information on the Internet. It's a beautiful thing. lol

A lot of my ancient ancestors on my mom's side were from Scotland in the 1700's and before. A lot from England and Scotland. The countryside is so beautiful in Scotland. It's one place I'd put on my bucket list down the road if I get a chance to visit while still on this planet alive. Would love to have a drink with some of you Scottish friends here on the board. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Annoying jws
by Jrjw ina 'concerned' jw in my congregation rang me earlier and said she's noticed my daughter sits miserable at the meetings and said she's a right miserable girl in general.
i said she's happy and hyper when she's not at the meetings they're just really boring and she doesn't want to be there.
apparently i'm a bad parent coz she feels that way.

JRJW- Sorry to hear that you have this emotional vampire of a sister in the congregation trying to suck the emotional life blood of your energy out. These people criticize us then try to bring the hatchet down on us by running to the elders claiming " I'm so concerned about sister so and so " when really they are just crossing our personal boundaries being busybody's .
I went through this a lot when I was in the organization over 14 years ago. Mostly from elders who wanted to snoop into my personal life as a single JW father - even though I was taking my teenage kids out in service averaging 20 hours a month in service ! I was doing the best I could , but they just wouldn't stop . Finally I stopped taking their harassing phone calls and they eventually stopped bugging me.
I think a person that's being harassed by these intrusive JW's just needs to disconnect from and not engage these nosy people and ignore them. Otherwise they'll keep crossing our personal boundaries. To most JW's - there is no such thing as having personal boundaries as they are told to rat each other out in the name of " Jehovah " and " keeping the congregation clean " . They think they get some kind of " brownie button " or score points with God for being our own " spiritual police men " . But it's annoying as hell, I'll tell you what. LOL. Take care my friend, don't engage them ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Girls are unpredictable, materialist, and use us, men, as a toy - Part 3
by will-be-apostate ina year ago i had a rough time and posted this .
it was a controversial topic, some people got offended by my overly boastful tone, others offered help.
i appreciate any kind of opinion and i try to correct the flaws in my personality.

WILL-BE-APOSTATE- Wow ! It sounds as if you've been your own therapist and taught yourself a lot this last year or so ! And that's a good thing ! Yeah man, don't be too hard on yourself my friend- after we exit the Jehoho religion we all go on a learning curve because being trapped inside a cult - many of us didn't develop proper social etiquette. So you're doing well ! You've come a long way. Wake Me Up is right- it takes a lot of personal honesty to admit to the things you just wrote in public- and I admire you for that.
So yeah, that being said , as you mentioned there are great people in the real world and there are manipulative people out in the world of both sexes. We all have to be careful who we get involved with out there. Sounds like you've found some really great friends now who have your best interests at heart. Pretty cool. Keep up the great work ! Hey, I've been out of the JW's over 14 years now, and I'll be learning things the rest of my life ! To me- that's one of the many things that life is- one great big learning process. Have a great 2018 my friend ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

A Former Jehovah's Witness shares her me too story
by LisaRose inhttps://ww2.kqed.org/news/2017/12/16/a-former-jehovahs-witness-shares-her-metoo-story/.
when i was 23 years old, i started dating a (jehovah’s) witness boy and we’d go out to some dance clubs.
there was a night in particular where i had too much to drink.

LISA- Thanks for relating this posters story. What a horrific experience she went though ! Sick. What's even sicker is the perpetrator threatening to go to the elders and maligning her character. Just disgusting. Sadly this is what women are facing everywhere when coming forward with sexual assault charges against unscrupulous men who are more concerned about saving their tainted reputations than admitting guilt . I hope life has been kinder to her in the years later than when she was 19 years old
