Who to Send a Disassociation Letter To?

if i am going to send a disassociation letter, i am wondering which hounder to send it to.

i know there is no mailboxes at the kingdumb hell, so any letters that get sent there would end up dead mail.

and i know that one does not send them to the washtowel slaveholdery.

Contrary to urban myth on this board, you do NOT have to send it to the PO(US congs only) You can SEND it to any appointed elder in the cong, However, I would recommend doing 'return receipt'--hence, you will receive proof that they received it from the US post office. Simply address it to the Body of Elders, and they will have to recognize it, as long as you unequivocally give your name and ask that it be removed from their membership rolls. After that, they will simply announce that you are "no longer one of jehovahs witnesses'.

i was out with some jw friends.

one elder, 3 ministerial servants, and lowly fading inactive publisher missinglink in a car looking for something fun to do.

we saw someone paragliding off a mountain.

I doubt it. According to the definitions of the org, paragliding would probably fall under the same category as parachuting, bungee jumping, or any other sport where THEY deem life endangerment or risk....

This is a bad year for 3 yr olds, especially when a filly can finish second....BB's timing in the derby was no where near a record. I predict he will win the triple crown, but he's no Secretariat, despite the media's obsession with him...

here is a run down of some special things i noticed at the district convention.. i probably took better notes now than when i used to go as a jw.. however, my notes now are mostly "stupid" things that they say on stage.

Thanks for the notes, Metaspy. Unfortunately, I am probably going to have to attend(due to circumstances that I would rather not go into), but its good to have the cliff notes version in advance. It's absolutely amazing how, in 35 yrs with contact in this org, their message at the dc's never changes--trash higher education/learning beyond high school and anyone who chooses to it, glorify a pauper lifestyle, ridicule/condemn virtually all entertainment, and continue to demonize the internet(while the legal corporations that the org uses have and maintain websites--that especially has always irked me)....Looks like I'll be getting in some good nap time next month...

the caller inquired of mrs.chickennest if she was disfellowshipped?

the caller identified herself with a name we didn't recognize.

when my wife indicated that she was no longer a witness, the call was ended by the caller.

Might just be an old acquaintance or friend wanting to verify, and at the same time wanting to maintain anonymity. Why would you think it would be anything more than that???

Changes in Elder arrangement?

there are continuing rumors about changes that are going to be made in the elder arrangement.

while these are still only rumors, i wish .

to repeat that the society must be under pressure to make legally motivated changes to the elder structure.. first, the appointment of elders seems to be much more direct than the appointment of most priests or pastors in common religions.. that might be a problem leading directly to the governing body.. more than that, there is a clearly defined hierarchy going up from local elders thru the c.o.

I think--no, predict-- there will be changes to the elder arrangement, and it will revert to more local control, which actually could be a good thing for the org. The apparent doing away with the CO arrangement as it is currently known would seem to indicate movement in that direction.

i was thinking about the whole stance that when "the world" declares "peace and security", then "the end" will come.. we all know the jws just love earthquakers, hurricanes, tsunamis, 9/11s, wars, etc.
