You never read your "fortune" in a fortune cookie.
hey i'll come back and do some, but does anyone want to kick start it?

okay i already asked a question earlier on being disassosiated now i'm wondering who this scripture applys to if not those in my place or disfellowshiped ones.
surly it doesn't apply only to those who are inactive since the son left to do his own thing.....
I don't know the answer to your question Heather but I wanted to welcome you to the board!
Very good question! I would like to know who this applies to as well. I always figured they applied this to disfellowshipped ones but wondered how that could be since the prodigal son didn't have to go through six months to a year of bs to welcomed back by his father.
if the end is so close as they told me then why?
why did they build all those new buildings up in bethel costed millions first of i wanna know how they can afford i thought they were a none profit so how you end up with millions ?
how can they afford to pay the superentendents (rent them cars , pay there meals , lodging) where does this money come from rent stadiums for assembly's i wana know why those bigshots in bethel drive nice cars when jesus walked and the one time he rode a mule not a horse a mule !

and there is one more but i cannot recall the exact name of it. I do believe it is fairly new and for is for special missionary work. I heard something about this in late 2006. It's the New Order of........something I don't know???
i was wondering if there are any current regular posters here that are still active , but are mentally inactive and don't believe all the bull anymore, and are just going through the motions to keep their life with friends and family together.. i realize this might be a posting that will probably get 0 replies, but.......
Yes, I am still "active" and in "good standing". My hubbie knows I have doubts but he doesn't know that I cut myself off emotionally from the WT.
Sometimes I get really sick of living a lie and want to make a clean break, other times I want to continue fading. Fading is going very slow for me.
When I am tired off "keeping up appearances" I just remind myself what type of mindset I'm dealing with and look at it as if I am speaking a different language. Basically when I am around JW's I speak JW.
However I hate to validate JW beliefs by talking with them as if I still believe, but for now that is my choice. This choice to converse with them as if I still believe is what is really getting to me right now. I feel very torn about his and still haven't made a concrete decision as to how I will make my escape from the WT.

i find it interesting that the title of this years dc is "follow the christ" it will be interesting to see how they twist the theme around to "follow the christ by following the orginazation".
i'm sure they will find the way to do so.
any thoughts anyone???
I started a topic about the D.C.(http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/124840/1.ashx) back in November. Leolaia said:
"Interesting title choice. BTW, before the 1950s, "the Christ" referred to the "anointed class" (in fact, "the anointed" is used today in the same sense that "the Christ" used to be, and "Christ" literally means "anointed").
So when they say "Follow the Christ" they really mean "Follow the Annointed" which as we all know really means "Follow the Organization".
I am sooo NOT looking foward this convention.
the circuit overseer is in town again!
yay!
apparently he has a dvd presentation to show us on thursday.
Can you teach me how to do that?
LOL!! If I could figure a way I would surely let you know. I guess it would be more accurate to say that I day dreamed through the entire thing. I have always been a day dreamer. So it comes quite easy for me. Just let your imagination take you away and before you know the meeting will be over with.
I wanted to say I am sorry about your beard. I always felt bad about brothers having to shave. Maybe you could wrap your face in bandages and put some sunglasses on and tell everyone you had to have major reconstructive surgery on your face, then you could keep your beard!

Our C.O. visit was in January and he had a dvd that showed the brothers building kingdom halls in other lands. I don't remember to much cause I pretty much zoned out through the entire thing. Don't know what it was called but I believe it was a new dvd.
hello you smarties out there!!!
i have been hanging out a bit at catholic forum (http://forums.catholic.com/index.php??

also by typing "shekinah" into the Wathtower cd-rom quite a few articles come up. Here is one that maybe of interest:
Questions
FromReaders It is said that in Israel’s tabernacle and later in the temple Solomon built there was the Shekinah. What was it?—A.G.,U.S.A.The Hebrew word Shekinah means "that which dwells" or "the dwelling." Though this term is not employed in the Bible, it is found in the Targumim, or Targums, the Aramaic paraphrases of the Hebrew Scriptures. Shekinah is used in the Targums in such Biblical passages as those related to God’s dwelling or tabernacling or residing among his chosen people. (E.g., Ex. 25:8; 29:45, 46; Num. 5:3; 35:34) In the Targums the Hebrew word "dwell" or "tabernacle" is rendered "let the Shekinah rest."—See Targum of Isaiah 48:11; 63:17; 64:3, 6.
The Shekinah was in evidence in the Most Holy of both the tabernacle and Solomon’s temple. Within this innermost compartment rested the sacred ark of the covenant, or testimony, with two golden cherubs fashioned for its lid or cover. Making reference to this Ark, God told Moses: "And you must place the cover above upon the Ark, and in the Ark you will place the testimony that I shall give you. And I will present myself to you there and speak with you from above the cover, from between the two cherubs that are upon the ark of the testimony, even all that I shall command you for the sons of Israel." (Ex. 25:21, 22) But how might Jehovah present himself there to Moses? A fitting manner would be by means of a miraculous light. Also, the high priest would need light when he was in the Most Holy on the atonement day.—Lev. 16:11-16.
The Shekinah in the tabernacle and in Solomon’s temple was such a light or supernatural glow. It shone between the two golden cherubs on the cover of the Ark. Just how high above the cherubs it extended or had its source cannot be determined. However, the Shekinah light was the only source of illumination in the Most Holy.
What, then, was the significance of the Shekinah light? This effulgence in the Most Holy signified or represented God’s presence. Of course, Jehovah himself could not be confined to any literal tabernacle or temple. (2 Chron. 6:18; Acts 17:24) But this marvelous light was an indication to the Israelites that Jehovah’s favor attended them.
According to the Jewish Mishnah, the Shekinah light in the Most Holy was one of the things lacking in the temple built under Governor Zerubbabel’s supervision.—Yoma, 21,2.
Don't know if this is what you are looking for but maybe it will help some.
