How did she handle that? Did she stick up for herself or was she more passive about it all? If you don't mind me asking.

i was wondering what an elder or ms might say to a wife who has an unbelieving mate?.
especially if her mate is in direct opposition of the truth.
i dont necessarily mean that her life in any physical danger.

Especially if her mate is in direct opposition of the “truth”. I don’t necessarily mean that her life in any physical danger. I’m more thinking along the lines of being harassed. Like every time she gets ready for a meeting he starts an argument. Or maybe he constantly slams her beliefs, causing her emotional stess/upset.
How should a “Christian” wife react in such circumstances (according to the wts)? Have any of you ex-brothers had to “encourage” a sister in this area? Have any ex-sisters here received said “encouragement”?
Sorry for all the dub speak! I didn't know how else to word this!
Thank You,

outaservice .
WOW! She is really talented! Her work is so beautiful. I can't believe how young she is!
What she calls God others may call Spirit/Goddess, etc. What she calls Heaven others may call the Higher Realm/Other Realm/Summerland, etc. What ever IT is that she is experiencing (even if it just within her own psyche) is truly amazing. imo
Thanks for sharing Outaservice!!
my friend is an up and coming jw recruit.
not baptized, but high-stepping in that direction.. any way... she lives a small rural town and she has to go to a neighboring town to a kh.
she recently asked her jw guru if there would be a kh built in their own town any time soon.
While this could very well be true, it just seems to me like an attempt to reinforce the whole "since we are JW's the world hates us and we are ohhh soooo persecuted" crap. Granted witnesses have had to deal with some persecution but people all over the world from many backgrounds experience atrocious horrors and I doubt the feel anymore righteoous becuase of it.
It just seems that Jw's have a real tendency to over exaggerated, especially when it comes to their so-called persecution. Anytime they can blame something on "false religion" and/or "Satan" they will!
We all may have a tendency to blame others for our problems. However it seems to magnified with religious fanatics. After all the book they look to has the whole "Blame Game" laid right out for them. I mean Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, and the poor serpent had no one to blame!

i have just finished reading 'confessions of a kamikaze cowboy' by dirk benedict.
in the book he talks about how 'macrobiotics' (exclusion of meat, sugar, dairy among others) helped improve his health and fight cancer.
a lot of what he says about food resonates with me, so im curious.
Awesome Topic!!
Over the years I have read many books about various diets. The first place I started was Vegetarian, then I moved on to Vegan. I felt that eating Vegan was a healthier way of eating at least compared to SAD (Standard American Diet). However I really struggled to stick with it. I would go a week or two and than "cheat" (eat some dairy or meat) and I would repeat the cycle until I was back to eating SAD. The cravings were horrible!! Even when I would stick with it for months at a time I still felt really tired and still had a host of health problems. The symptoms would diminish some, but would not go away. Not only would I change my diet I would also do cleansings, fasts, etc. I did feel better but not the best that I knew I could.
So I did some more search and stumbled upon Natural Hygienic's which lead me to the Raw Vegan Diet. There are many froms of this way of eating out there and I have tried many of them but the 80/10/10 approach works the best! I really feel this is how we are supposed to eat and all I can say is that I have never felt this good in all my life. I have energy like never before, the mental fog is lifting, depression is gone! Many people who have done this long term have said that they have not had a single sick day since they went raw.
It took over a year of reading to finally decide to try it. I have been raw of and on over the past couple of months I went off raw on my anniversary to "reward" myself. That was a big mistake. All I did was reintroduce the taste of cooked food back into system and it was down hill from there. But I am now back on track and feeling wonderful!! I am not saying that it is easy to go 100% Raw Vegan. At first it is a little difficult as some "detox" is experienced by most who make the switch. However after a few days things balance out and after a few weeks the results are simply amazing.

how far in your life would you turn back time and why?
what would you hope to change?.
abr.
I have to say that I do have my regrets but overall I am pretty happy. However just for "what if" sake If could I would like to go back to when I was around 14 or 15, around 1997. When I was just about finished with the Knowledge Book and the pressure was on for me to start preaching and all that jazz. I would have said "thanks for studying with me but this religion is not for me and I wish discontinue the study". Hopefully I would have continued living as a free person whose mind and heart wouldn't be locked up in the chains that is the Watchtower.
Well at least that's how I imagine in it.

when a party on the telephone asks you for the number of some other business?
this happens to me constantly, and, it drives me nuts!!!!
it's like, hey, i've got my own work to do..........how's about dialing the local information line?
Yes this happens alot! People call our business line, find out they got the wrong number and then they ask "Could you look the number up for me?" If I am not to busy I will. Most of the calls are for people who are trying to get ahold of Social Services. Our county is known for people who abuse the system, sometimes I want to tell them to quit being so damn lazy and look the number up themselves. But I could never actually say that because who I am to judge them? Some really do need assistance and I would feel terrible if I offended someone who was truly in need.

i was youtube'ing the other day and ran across this memorial to phil hartman.
it is only his work on newsradio, but it captures the man nicely.
the song it's set to brought tears to my eyes: .
The Simpsons just isn't the same without Troy McClure
I agree!
I wasn't feeling all that well this weekend so I got out Season 5 and 6 of The Simpsons and had a Simpsons Watching Marathon. Phils voice is used in many of the episodes. I turned the commentary on and when Troy McClure came on the screen everybody mentioned how much they missed Phil.
I miss him too!

when i think back, i loved being a cocktail waitress.. all i had to do is put on a short skirt prance around like i knew what i was doing and get paid for it.
tips were good too!.
dreadful job?
Favorite job: Massage Therapist I really loved this work. It is so fullfilling. Not a lot of money in it where I live but that didn't really matter to me.
Dreadful job: Where do I begin? Well it's hard to say for ceratin becuase I had some really @hitty jobs. However my current job is so emtionally draining. As my other jobs were hard work and little pay. So I'd say it's my current job that's the worst. I mean I make pretty good money but I am surrounded by JW's and it is making the fading process difficult. Plus it's all family and the bs we all go through is just not worth any amount of money.
My hubbie and I are slowly reducing are debt so we can both do what we love to do. It's only a matter of time and we will be free from this place! I can't wait!!!

for as long as i can remember, i think wicca is one of the most misunderstood of all religions.
last week, in my nature writing and literature class, a friend of mine gave a presentation of the history of wicca and an explanation of their beliefs.
basically in a nutshell, she said that wicca's believe that everything in life goes in a circle, from the life and death cycle to the calendar of holidays they celebrate.. i asked several questions, mainly trying to determine if they are a cult like the watchtower.
Hi Anitar!
Wikipedia has a pretty good "article" about wicca- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca
Enjoy!!
