  Another jw story I got

  i received this in an email from a jw today.

  i know the person who sent it, i used to be in his congregation, and he suggested i put it on my site.

  i assume he was joking, it certainly isn't going on there, but i thought i'd share it with you guys.

  So...Here is the rest of the story.....

  After 6 years of it going along this way...thier "new model" washing machine broke. Their microwave was burning the tv dinners they would cook...(that was all they had time for) and Jenny got pregnant. Since they were putting the ministry first....they had no insurance. Once again John had to look for a more lucerative job. Since they had been through this before, they decieded to take a different route.

  Jenny enroled in some college courses, since she had always dreamed of having a degree. John contacted some "brothers" who owned businesses....but, no one was willing to give him any jobs with insurance. The most they would pay him was min. wage, but they would give him meeting times off. The sisters began to snub Jenny since she was pursuing a career....and the older childless ones were down right bitter acting. They would remark...."We are waiting to take care of the babies that are resurected in the New System".

  Once again, John and Jenny's meeting attendance started slacking. They could no longer pioneer...but, they were still trying to be good JW's. The congregation started to exclude them from gatherings...and Jenny got pulled in the back room for "making a showy display" of her growing belly.

  Meanwhile....Jenny met a woman in her class that seemed very friendly. Her husband ran a construction business and was more than happy to have their husbands meet. John got a job with this man....who payed good money and provided insurance. They were happy with the circumstances, but they felt so guilty and didn't know why. Then Jenny met Mouthy. She was in the grocery store and a nice lady smiled at her, and said she was "glowing". It brought her to tears and the woman asked..."Dear, what is wrong?" Jenny said..."You are the first person to be so kind...I have lots of "friends" at my church who have nothing nice to say."

  Wellll...You can figure the rest.....soon, Jenny and John saw "the truth about the truth" and their guilt was GONE! POOF! Boy were they glad they didn't spend the rest of their lives slaving for a cult.

  Ten years later....they have 3 kids....good jobs and a retirement plan!

  Baptism Candidates

  at dcs, sads, or cas, do they know beforehand how many baptismal candidates there will be?

  i recall on another thread where the brother gving the baptism talk ask them to stand and no one stood up.

  could anyone then go and sit in the front row and go through with baptism without having to answer the questions or even have studied?.

  well, i've been lurking here for a while and decided that today i would introduce myself.

  i was raised as a jw from the time i was 5 years old.

  i am now 46 and was df'd in 1976 or 1977 i can't remember.

  Welcome...thanks for introducing yourself. I was the same way. I didn't know WHY I could not go back, even if it meant my death. That was the way I lived for 7 years.....and I was self-destructive too. Then I felt the need to really figure out if the JW's are right...and it took about a week to realise how much of a cult they are....and then many months up till now to sort things out in my head.

  Can you name ONE thing that the WTBTS said that came true?

  garybuss said not one single thing they told him about in his younger years (since the 50's) came true.

  it made me think....does anyone know of anything they said that was/is right?????

  hi, just wanted to know your thoughts on what you think the future holds for the wts.

  what for an example what do you think they will be writing on the cover of the w & a magazines 50 or 100 hundred years form now ?.

  I think they have plents of "treasures" not "in heaven" stored up to take care of all the "important" people if something were to happen.....As far as it happening, I hope so.....I know they seem to be shrinking....but some people seem to LIKE being in the cult.

  The Day all Jehovah`s Witness`s are put into Concentration Camps!

  when i was a kid,kingdom halls still had windows.thats a while ago..as a kid i was told in the last days,jehovah`s witness`s would be rounded up and be put into concentration camps..i was told,when the government came to take me away and seperate me from my parents,i should wear my warmest coat and boots.as i would have to fend for myself in the concentration camp..i was told never to give up my faith.even if they tied my parents to a stake and was foced to light the fire that would burn them alive.....jehovah`s witness`s are the "happiest people on earth!

  What Gary said about "not one thing" coming true really hit a nerve with me....cause it is soooo true. Not ONE thing in all their years have they even GUESSED right! WOW......

  And (going with the thread) I used to be in a KH with windows in Jefferson Ohio.....They are still there as far as I know...but they said because of crime...ect. they didn't have windows much now. I always thought that Armeggedon would come during the meeting (since we couldn't see outdoors in most halls)...and we would walk out after and see the paradise. (No, I didn't concider the bodies, destruction, ect.)

  cult personality type?

  another thing that has been intriguing me lately is the idea that cults can help sway people towards a certain personality type more towards a judging personality for example, or becoming more feeling rather than thinking.

  i know my meyers-briggs type changed from istj when i was a jw to intj after i left.

  i was curious if anyone else was aware of a similar shift in their actual measurable personality traits..maybe putting on the new personality is literal?

  I have noticed this on a bit of a different side. It seems to me a-lot of our families in it have a similar bitter, hatefull attitude. It seems that the cult attracts people who are very controling by nature

  Can't find husband's bleeding site

  i haven't said anything to you all because i feel like many will say here she goes looking for sympathy.

  anyway, he had to go in thursday for a cbc.

  his hgb was 7.2. so they sent him over to the hospital to get two units as an outpatient.

  I am sorry they are not able to find the problem. I find it strange that they won't do more to help untill he is even worse off. That just doesn't make sense to me. I hope you both find out soon.
