  where do the bible-believers in this forum stand on the genesis creation?

  is it one story told by one author, the same story told twice with different emphasis by the same author, the same story told twice with different emphasis by two different authors, or two different stories told by two different authors, or two different--and conflicting--stories told by two different authors?

  i had the "priviliage" of attending the 3 days of the "give god glory" convention.

  for those interested, i will be posting some observations.

  in one of the first talks, the speaker interviewed a young one, who gave his "experience" of being on the internet and being "seduced" by the pornography so readily available there.

  Reborn: that is a tough one. I am glad that you can look back at the painfull things your family said and contribute them to this forum. sometime the words utered by the family can be the worst.

  He was created by the babylonians, or at least borrowed from them. Until the Israelites were placed in bondage there was no mention of a Satan in any of the books, except for the snake (who was only identified later as Satan).

  Cost of War

  ive seen estimates that the war in iraq has cost so far $160,000,000,000 us

  IMO. The true cost of war will be a number that will be considerably less. Most of the “high tech” weapons that were used are probably yesterday’s technology, and would end up being scrapped at some point to make way for newer toys. If the true cost of dismantling, storing and/or disposing of all the tech toys was considered it would probably be a good deal to get rid of them in this manner (blowing up another country). Most of the flyboys have to log a certain number of hours to stay current in their aircraft. So, they would fly and probably drop bombs at a test range, anyway. We did not have to start a draft. So, other that the extra pay for sending the soldiers into battle and calling up the Guard is a little extra.

  Maybe, we could turn the number around to say how much money it cost to save every life.

  I do agree that there are a lot of oppressive governments that need to be destroyed.
