so my brother in law (jw) has a satelite and he recently got the card that gives you all the channels without paying, so he was telling me this and said that he keeps the basic package and he dosen't feel so bad!.

yes only stealing a little must be ok now and if you are paying a bit for some of the service your consceince wont be bothered and you get all the porn a jw needs to survive without having the embarassment of anyone from the congregation seeing you rent a restricted movie!.

They Finally Did It

my parents have finally disowned me.. my dad called yesturday and told me to get the "dogs of my mothers back" about my upcoming wedding.. i told him that i havent put anyone on mum's back and if they are saying it, its because they want to and don't agree with what he and mum are doing.

i said that mum can speak for herself and he said that she and will and the next time you speak to your mother she will tell you that we dont want to ever speak to or see you again...".

at this point in the conversation i hung up the phone in his ear.

i know i started a naughty war thread and several other war threads, but seeing as no one is getting the exact info simmultaneously, could it be possible that you could wait and get the most info possible before posting about war stuff, maybe even more than one opinion?

we all have access to the news one way or another and i think a lot of the posts are merely being used to promote one agenda or another, or give someone a chance to vent more about the way they feel, but if you go back and look what most try to do about other subjects you might see it's different.

if we go after jwland most try to get as much info as possible before posting lest its anecdotal.

I agree totally Valis...one thing to add that bothers me is when some get only part of a story...or one of those "this just in" reports and they don't have all the details yet and then the rumour mill starts...very sad...quite alot like the WTS hmm?

POST-JW: How many have returned to school/college/university?

i know that this question has been asked before, but there are newer members on the forum, and as a nice diversion, i thought i'd post this question:

since many of us are now no longer jehovah's witnesses, how many of you returned to post-secondary education?

in some cases, i know some quit high school, so if you have returned there, it'd be interesting to hear your stories.

I am currently finishing up my first year of obtaining my Bsc in Nursing at the University of Alberta. For someone who never finished high school (actually I was expelled 2 yrs in a row) I would have never dreamed in a million years that I would actually be attending university. Somedays I still can't believe it. I may have started 10 years afetr most of my friends, but I always say better late than never.

Remember...it is NEVER too late to pursue your dreams!!! I know so many people who have been out of school for many many years, and they have gone back...and they are very successful at it. Sometimes dreams are all you have, and you just have to chase them sometimes.
