Butterfly,
Do you believe that the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands, of JW children and adults, caused by the WTS's on-and-off blood and organ transplant policy, are the work of a benevolent "spiritual guide"?
when i was a jehovah's witness i remember these debates being mentioned about the raps of innocent children that elders commented, the blacks and whites segregation, the crosses and christmas tree in the bethal, etc.
jehovah's witnesses have always been harassed for these things.
with the changing world and knowledge of the scriptures they work hard to try to work towards accurateness.

i just do.. if a thread title has misspelled words or someone's rant has misspelled words, all i see are those ragged, misplaced letters all akimbo.. it's like watching early morning tv and i can't notice anything said by the fat woman who doesn't know how to dress for her figure.. i just think silently ... "you're fat and you dress poorly.
how can you stand it?".

White Dove,
Wow. I had crabby English teachers who were nicer than that. I've got an ultra-critical dub mom, but at least she doesn't mess with my spelling.
i recently watched the classic 1965 film "the sound of music" for the umteenth time.
it was the winner of 5 academy awards, including best picture.
i originally saw it on the big screen when it first aired and loved every minute of it.
If you liked the movie, Farkel, you might like to read Maria von Trapp's autobiography (can't remember the title), if it's still in print.
As free-spirited as she was in Austria, her sense of adventure did not fail her when the family escaped to the U.S. The account of the family's lives in Vermont is funny and poignant.
Good read.
so who has a job that is boring enough to fall asleep at?
i've never yet fallen asleep on the job, but it would be very esy to do so based on how inane most of my work is, despite the fact that i actually do use my brain.
sometimes it's just so dry and technical i can't keep it up.. i have a nice fancy chair that leans back to my specifictions of resistance, so it would easy to tilt back and snooze a bit.
daniel, try eating a lunch with more protein in it and have a cup of coffee or tea (caffeinated) around 2 p.m. Unless JWN is enough to keep you going.
When I worked, I would lock myself in my car at lunch break, slap an "I'm asleep" post-it on the window, set an alarm, put the seat back and sleep for hour. It was the only thing that kept me going, some days.
You have to know how to spell it before you can find it in the dictionary, and if you already know how to spell it, you don't need to look it up!
Anne Baxter in "The Miracle Worker"?
even as a witness we always used to decorate for fall with pumpkins, goards, mums, candles and other natural things.
now that i can decorate for halloween, i realize that i really prefer to stick to the natural stuff.
i will have a few homemade hallween things when the time comes but for now i've decked my apartment out in fall goodness.
bluecanary, I like the mini-pumpkins hanging from your chandelier and the decorative paper collages. If you don't mind, I'd like to do the same in my house.
But I always decorate the front porch as scary as I can because we get a high volume of trick-or-treaters (60-80) every Halloween.
Hope your mom is feeling better.
my neighbor near my workplace brought a piece of mail delivered to him by mistake.
he and his employee/student from his martial arts studio came by and he began preaching to me about christ.
he's a pentecostal christian who has dreams and visions of events that have supposedly happened that he prophesied beforehand.
minimus: Another dream--at 3 am every morning a woman with a sword would try to hurt him and he finally had her exorcised from his dreams and she was from the Devil and he prayed that if she would stop afflicting him, he would tell everyone he knew about Christ. So now he preaches to everyone!!!!!
minimus, are you sure your neighbor isn't pjschipper? He started a thread a day or two ago -- "Song of the sword" -- and had this to say about it:
"guess no one else has dreams that are, what I call inspired. The WTS does not want us looking into dreams, but many prophets had warnings in dreams. And prophetic events that would happen. I don't think that was done away with. Do you?"
Coincidence? Maybe Halloween is coming early this year.
are we referring to the ramblings of religious psychotics?.
villabolo.
chipper: guess no one else has dreams that are, what I call may be inspired. The WTS does not want us to looking into dreams, but many prophets had warnings in dreams. And prophetic events that would happen. I don't think that was done away with. Do you?
So you have "inspired" dreams, do you? Did one of your "inspired" dreams sing the song of the sword to you? You might have said that at the beginning and avoided all of this nonsense. But maybe you like making a fuss over nothing.
OK, now that you've told us Jehovah sends you "inspired" and "prophetic" dreams, can you be clear for once and just tell us your sword-song dream prophecy? Or was that your "swan-song" dream?
You're veering close to trollism, chipper. Start making some sense.
may you have peace!
because you have not made any responsive comment in issues where i have adressed you, i am thinking that perhaps we should take this particular issue to its own thread, if you will accommodate me.
in the thread entitled, "are we following men?
chipper, will I receive the holy spirit if I read the Bible with spirits, such as a few fingers of Johnny Walker Blue, neat?
I've read parts of the Bible since leaving the dubs. Never received any spirits, holy or otherwise, so I had to provide my own.
Maybe you should try it sometime. It will make "studying" the WT much easier, I guarantee.

here, here, parakeet. your sew rite
Your awesum!
Aaarrrrgggghhh!!!! You're killing me! My eyes are bleeding!
White Dove: Seriously, if you're in college and write home with errors in the letter, what is your mom going to think? What a waste of money sending that kid to college, perhaps?
I think I said good spelling and grammar in letters to Mom would be NICE but not essential. After all, Mom isn't going to give you an F if you misspell a word or two, would you, Mom?
