Well, The belief that the entire earth was covered completely with water for over a year, and yet plant life still lives, and there is no evidence of it to be found, is quite illogical... (Also if it was covered with salt water, all freshwater fish would be dead, and if it was covered with fresh water, all saltwater fish would be dead... and before you ask, there is no perfect balance of salt/fresh water, otherwise it would be used in fish tanks... ir must be one or the other.)

The belief that the whole solar system stood still for a day, so that some guy could finish killing people... and yet there is no evidence of it to be found, is quite illogical...

The belief that all the animals, will eat grass and will stop killing each other, even though they very obviously are incapable of making such a switch. (What about that wasp, who has to lay its eggs inside a caterpiller to reproduce? Or the vampire bat, or the gnats and ticks... they have no way of surviving on plants.) That's quite illogical. And would require and immense change of anatomy for 75% of everything on earth.

The belief that someone, an invisible and indetectible spirit creature, that has the whole world in his power, who claims that humans would be better off without god, would deliberatly cause problems for them, thus ruining his whole arguement, is quite illogical.

I should also point out that humans were not designed to live forever, that's why our spines slowly get worse the longer we live, we only have two rows of teeth, and why would we have an immune system, and sneeze reflexes if we weren't supposed to get sick?

So are you saying that everyone who suffers is simply a bad person? Also according to this logic, unless every god fearing person lives a good life, it would mean that god did a lousy job.

However, if every singe person on earth had horrible hair, it may be logical to conclude that there are no barbers. Also barbers are neither invisible, nor do they claim to be all powerfull, with the ability to trim everyones hair at once, and promising them healthy hair for all eternity.

Barbers can be seen, touched, heard, spoken to and they will respond, smelled and even tasted if you want to. God cannot be percieved by any sense. There is no indication that he has ever existed, any more than there is evidence that an invisible pink unicorn has ever existed. Any 'evidence' in gods favor can also be applied to the aforementioned unicorn.

Sorry, but the story doesn't work.

i believe it's on pages 14-16. this is for a huge research project i am doing.

This article was written over 50 years ago by people with preconcieved ideas about the outcome. Is it really true, considering all the new kinds of animals that have been found since then, that they all would have fit on the ark?

I'm not sure, I just find that hard to believe. So is there a more modern, and less biased discussion of whether or not they'd fit?

i find the term apostate used freely towards those who have left the org, by both witnesses hiding and also ex witnesses calling themselves that.

don't you find that offensive.

i have been out for over 6 years and the last thing i consider myself is an apostate.

I like the word apostate... it makes me feel smarter than them somehow: It says in one word "Yeah, I used to believe that, but now I know better."

Plus I beat them to the punch... like XJW4EVR said... They can't argue with me, because I'm right, so the only thing they have left is to call me an apostate, but if I admit that I'm an apostate going into it they have nothing left to say.

I like that 'ownership of the word' idea it's not your insult anymore, it's my badge of honor.

i think it will be around for years to come.

i do think that we can put the word out about this cult and help people get out or not join them in the first place.

but we'll never obliterate them, in my opinion.

I doubt any outside force can take out the borg, they keep adapting... Think about it:

If conditions in the world get worse, it's a sign of the last days, but if conditions in the world improve, it's a sign of peace and security which means the end is near.

If numbers grow it's a sign that Jehovah is blessing their efforts, but if they stop growing it's a sign that the number of right hearted people is dwindling, so the end must be near.

If they get something right ( Like they claim they did about 1914, but that's a subject all by itself.) It proves that they are Jehovahs chosen religion... Praise God. But if they get stuff wrong and then correct it, it's a sign that Jehovah has given them 'New Light' Praise God again!

If scientists discover things that seem to support the bible, it is accepted right away as fact and they praise god for the wonderfull truth. But if scientists discover things that disprove the bible, it is evidence of Satan trying to deceive them, so they must draw closer to god and so the scripture about not putting trust in nobles is proven true, and they praise god for the wonderfull truth.

If someone comes into the borg it is evidence that god is helping them grow, but if someone leaves the borg it is evidence that god is helping them get rid of imposters.

If they are under ban it is evidence that Satan is persecuting them, but if the ban is lifted it is evidence of gods protection.

It's pathetic! No matter what happens their faith is strengthened, and if the same things happen to other religions it is taken as evidence against them! They can't lose... the only thing that can stop them is themselves, the individual witness has to pull his head out of his butt and start thinking... but they don't since the collective mind thinks for them.

i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.

Well I say you're welcome here... It's kind of weird, I always used to feel so special because I was a true christian and therefore not prejudist, now I realise how bigoted I was... who the heck am I to judge you? But now as an atheist I'm perfectly willing to accept everybody, ironic that I'm a better person without god, than I was as a christian.

Generaration doctrine still current on Watchtower Site

it is now over 11 years since the wtbts abandoned the generation doctrine linking those being born before 1914 and still being alive when armageddon arrives.. however it is still available as current doctrine on the watchtower web site.

this is not just a simple mistake.

the society did not have this web site running in 1995 when the doctrine was changed.

Well it's been 11 years and they still haven't removed that from the Reasoning book... It's still in there under 'last days' so they will teach that at the door unless the individual witness knows otherwise.

I got Data.. followed closely by Geordi.That's cool, Data's my favorite character, and I always did relate to him, so I think that's a pretty good score. However I'm not sure it's completely accurate, since I preffer to distance myself from my emotions, not aspire for more. So while I'm flattered to be considered the same as Data, I think Spock would be more accurate, since he tries his best to NOT show emotions, instead of trying for more.

By the way I had my little brother double check my answers to make sure I was being honest... He's my biggest critic so you can be sure that this is the correct result.

How did you hide things?

for those of you who had some evil in you, how did you hide the things that you didn't want your parents or fellow jws to find?.

i used to hide porn magazines under the carpet in my bedroom, and i had a gutted vcr that i used to hide my rap tapes (along with other things i can't remember).

Well I was a good little boy until a few years ago when I realised it was a bunch of crap. Then I realized I could do whatever I want, just so I didn't get caught...

So, I use my amazing Geek Powers to hide the porn, my visits to this site, the pirated roms/emulators, the bad music and whatever else...

I don't smoke, do drugs or drink so I don't have to worry about hiding that stuff.

I always find a way to get a password, whatever it is for, bank codes, filter passwords, satellite blocker, I can get them: It's easy to hide stuff when your parents think it's impossible to do anyway, and knowing secret passwords is an excellent way of doing that.
