There a few of us in Tucson that probably would be able to see you on your way through. Sounds like you are using I-10. Also there a few in Phoenix, I believe.
Have fun......and don't do anything I wouldn't!
here is a link to my first thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/153425/1.ashx.

this trying to become somewhat of a vegetarian is hard.
i can look up anything on the net and find out how to do anything, including how to make a devastating nail bomb to making ricine (sp) to kill people but i can't seem to find out the nutritional values a person needs.. what i worry about most is the protein that we need on a daily basis.
right now i am eating everything that has the highest content of protein i can find in the cupboard.. i am not trying to go vegetarian because of peta, although i have watched the video's (eeeeewwwww).
Just had to add this site: http://www.chooseveg.com/
I got it by following another link on the abuse of animals but I particularly like it because it has 'cooking shows' on it.

Thanks for all of your replies. I am soooo confused. I just ordered a book on becoming vegetarian but it has not arrived yet.
Thank you for all of the links, they will be helpful.
Brent, I want to become a very liberal vegetarian. Yes, I will incorporate dairy.
I don't see the other person here to respond to. The one who said he (?) doesn't eat meat and is very healthy. Thank you.

I am not trying to go vegetarian because of PETA, although I have watched the video's (eeeeewwwww). I want to go a very liberal vegetarian because of my own taste. For at least 2 years now I have despised meat. If I make chili for us, I push the meat out and eat the rest. I just don't like how meat tastes anymore.
Anyway, I know this is disjointed, but I am asking anyone who does live a vegetarian lifestyle to let me know how to find out the protein content we need.
TY
i know that most of you dont believe in the jw faith anymore, but do any of you think certain things might have went different for you if in a different congregation?
ive mentioned before that i believe in what the jws believe.
im asking this question though because ive been to a couple of congregations in different areas and ive found some to be more heartworming, more open, and happier than others.
No, I know the congreagation itself had nothing to do with me leaving.
Bit of a background. I was disfellowshipped and then during the 'song and dance' of getting reinstated I really started to have doubts but I wanted so bad to get back into the fold I put them aside. When I was in this 'yessuh' (sorry for the implication) mode, I let all reason go out of my head and did almost everything I could to get reinstated.
In this time of trying to get reinstated I studied like mad. I had books on my dining room table and read constantly. Ironically, they tell you to only read their propaganda yet that is exactly what took me away from the 'troof.'
After months and months of begging and pleading and studying I got reinstated. I even jumped right into the TMS and field service. I remember early in '95, I think it was about Feb. or March, I was dressed for service and going to my front door to be picked up for service and saw on the table a Watchtower (I believe) and it had a picture of the Pope on it. Of course it was saying bad things about false religion. I was very upset. My thought was that we should not be worrying about other religions, we should be worrying about what it takes for us spiritually. What came to mind was the scripture about worrying about the splinter in someone else's eye while you have a rafter in your own eye.
I don't remember if it was that particular day or one after that but I remember approaching a man in field service with my stale conversation starter. He had some objection (maybe not an objection.....maybe he just stated how he felt) and I remember going into a mode. I remember feeling my eyes glaze over and not hearing what the man said to me. But I do remember thinking while right in front of this man "I am just a salesperson."
My doubts happened way before this but I refused to confront them. I wasted too many years to this cult.
so all this talk at the moment about funerals and stuff got me thinking... what kind of an exit party would i like?.
i reckon i would not want anything too formal, but i would want loads of people saying how great i was - i people to notice that i am no longer around, and be sad about it!
i want people to share good memories.
When I die I don't want a big fanfare, not that that would happen anyway.
What I want is a discreet cremation and then having my ashes scattered over a body of water. All Of my life I have been afraid of water and this would be my last hurrah. Water......you cannot get me anymore.
i would like to begin a collection - but i am not sure the best resources so that i don't get ripped off.
anyone know of a forum that discusses this hobby?
i did a google and the category is so broad i don't know where to start.
Myhusband goes to many, many countries and we have quite a stash (for a collection of where he has been) but not serious collector's here.
I would suggest going to your local bank to exchange $'s for whatever you want.
i've noticed that most of all dating sites have their search page filled with boxes and that's it.
there's no way for one to actually make a text based search; typing in "apostate" for instance in a text box and thus search for that word in the profile database or am i wrong?
do you know of any dating site that has this feature?
First off I want to apologise if I am way offbase with this.
You stated: "typing in "apostate" makes me wonder, since this is your first post, and because of the spelling of Christ (being Krist), if you are not a watchtower spy,who we know keeps tabs on these type of sites, to see if anyone can be caught.
i was told it was like mixing with bad association , i found that quite laughable considering all the scandal that went on in the congregation , it made eastenders look very tame , im suprised they could not see it for themselves ,how hypocritical it all was
In the congregation I was in at the time I watched soaps (soap opers, as my children would say) it was said from the 'platform' repeatedly that we should not watch them, to watch them would be like inviting into our homes neighbors, who must be morally wrong in thier lives because they do not serve Jehoober. Can you imagine brothers and sisters the damage that it can cause?
It's funny, once I left the mind boggling control the higher ups had on me, I stopped watching the soaps.
i was saying to an elder that the gb now says it's ok to have hemogloblin.
he nearly flipped his lid.. now he wants proof from the societies publications.
he also said hemopure is only 2% hemogloblin.
MY FIRST THOUGHT IS TOO BE VERY WARY ABOUT HIM ONLY WANTING INFO FROM THE SOCIETIES LITERATURE.
Sorry about the caps.
Go here for more information: http://www.ajwrb.org/
I at one time thought that hemoglobin was the red cells without the membrane sack but this site indicates something different: http://sickle.bwh.harvard.edu/hemoglobin.html
On this site they are saying that Hemopure has approximately 13% hemoglobin: http://www.ajcp.com/Volume_116/Issue_6/Art/201042_Table_3.pdf
Hope this helps.
