DO YOU STILL LOVE JEHOVAH?

lately, i notice quite a few comments of disillusionment.

some say they are no longer religious.

others say they are not sure if god really exists.others are trying to come to terms with life outside of the watchtower.

I believe in and love GOD. I'm not sure of his name (Elohim, Yahwee, Jehovah, Jesus), however, I don't use the name Jehovah any more. It has too many bad feelings wrapped around it. When I pray I call him God, father, Lord, whatever comes to mind. When I slip in a Jehovah it seems like I'm instantly transported back to the borg state - praying to a blank ceiling, an angry disciplinarian God from which I will receive no reply - I hate that feeling!! When I pray and call him Lord, Jesus, Father, anything else I can really talk to him and not be afraid.

Pomegranate - thanks for that information!! For some stupid reason I actually feel guilty about not useing the name - so your research helps me to release some of that guilt.

Demons

i have a question: as you all know jehovah's witnesses view crystal ball, physics, as demonized or anything that is not suppose to be in the house like tarot cards.

and jehovah's witness believe that the demons would bother them if they do these activities or have them in the house.

do you still believe that or do you think it is the society's way of mind control over their members?

The bible warns against dabbling in the spiritual world (fortune tellers, etc) in a number of places. So I don't believe the JW's particularly use this as mind control since it's a common teaching in Christianity. However, JW's are a lot more scared of it than I have found others to be on the outside - they're basically freaks when it comes to some things.

I definately believe in the spirit world. And since I'm a Christian I would steer clear of these as warned in the bible - but I'm not scared of demons like I used to be when I was in the borg. I'm not afraid of a lot of things now - whew!!

I can remember when I was little being afraid of buying yard sale items as they might be demonized - and of course I couldn't have a smurf doll....geeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz

Stone Circles?

i live near some really interesting stone circles derbyshire england, i love visiting this place, i even went late in the day when it was dark, just .

to get the feel of what the place was all about.

some people talk about the personality of each stone circle, strange!

Naw.........ya'll have it wrong.

The stone circles were set up to mark the party zone. This civilization lived long before mass transportation and roads were set up. Therefore, you couldn't very well invite neighboring towns the the bachelor party on Friday night being held at Zimbob's Tavern, corner of 4th & Lee - so they set up the stone circles and sent smoke signals to the invite - something like "party....here...in 2 moons.......climb big hill......find large stones....bring beer"

Also - the circle worked as a sort of "barrier" - keeping those party animals in one area. Without the zonal area the drunken ancients could have wondered off into the desert never to be seen again. This way they could all be safely found by their significant other companions come morning when they had passed out next to the head rock. Additionally, there was no smoking allowed outside of the tribal party zone area - this protected the young innocent ones from smoke.

See..............we really haven't changed much in 5000 years

Do dubs deal with death better than others?

going to that funeral this week made me think about a few things.. first the family members that attended, who btw were not dubs, were shedding tears.

i did not see anyone else there crying even though the woman who died was a great friend and will really be missed.. now since the dubs have the hope of the "resurrection" does that allieviate their grief that they should normally posess?

does that mean they are "happy" when someone dies because their wait is over?

Do dubs deal with death better than others?

Dubs don't deal any better with grief - they just put on a better show!! Remember - it's all about appearances.

When my dad passed away my entire family (all JW's) grieved. My mother, of course, shed a lot of tears - and has continued to cry off and on since. But when everyone else is around they put on a brave front and talk about the hope they have that noone else has.

I reminded them that most religions also have a hope - it may be different from theirs - but it is no less real to the individual.

Once my mom was "reminding" me of the importance to serve Jah and get back to the "truth" before Armageddon comes. Wouldn't I want to see my father in the resurrection? So I responded "of course I'll see him - everyone will get resurrected". She replied "only the faithful ones.." to which I interrupted with John 5:28-29...that all will be resurrected, both righteous and unrighteous. She just sat there and looked at me for a minute - then changed the subject.

Of course - I'm hoping I'll be getting the good resurrection

Who are the 144,000?

i swallowed and believed such much shit when i was a jw that i have a few more questions to ask anyone who has the answers.

the 144,000 is a big gripe of mine........ right, i was told that the 144,000 found out they were one of the anointed when they had a flash of "revelation" at some point and truly believed it or they had known since they were a child.

what a load of shit!

After reading the book of Revelation - finally without the help of the WT publications - I believe that the 144,000 are Jews that will accept Jesus as the Messiah. These convert after the rapture and during the great tribulation.

Then again - it could all be symbolic. I find it hard to believe there would be 144,000 virgins who never lied

Missing my dad.............

my father passed away in october.

today would have been his and mom's 50th wedding anniversary.

it's been a tough day - i miss him a lot.. dad was an elder, and mom is still a very active jw.

My father passed away in October. Today would have been his and mom's 50th wedding anniversary. It's been a tough day - I miss him a lot.

Dad was an elder, and mom is still a very active JW. Our religious differences has put a strain on my relationship with my parents and brothers - and being DF'd for the past 12+ years has definately distanced us all.

Today - none of that matters. Yesterday she came over for for a BBQ in the afternoon. Tonight she and I are going to a move and to dinner to celebrate their life together. She doesn't want to be alone - I'm hoping that I can find the words to encourage her.

I am thankful that I still have a relationship with my mother - and I am so sad for those who have lost their parents because of this DF'ing policy. Had we followed their rules I would not have had the last 12 years with my dad - my son and daughter would not have known their grandfather - that would have been a huge loss. I wish other JW parents had the balls to do what was right instead of blindly following an organizational policy.

So - I say they can take their August Kingdom Ministry and shove it up their a$$!

Just had to share my thoughts and vent a bit. Thanks.
