that's all.
it just reminded me of the new generation definition the gb invented.
so i guess me and her are of the same generation.
Yes indeedy. And your great great great great great great great grandchildren be part of that generation, too, praise Jah!
Hopefully, the Watchtower flim-flam scam won't last that long. ;–)

P.S.: Asked my mother the other night: What's the definition of a generation? "Well, about 25 years, you know, how long it takes to raise a family. Those children grow up, get married and start families of their own. People are waiting longer to get married now, so maybe a new generation every 30 years or so." It was one of those conversations where her cult programming was turned off.
a number of us ex-jws have gotten together to rally support for haiti within the ex-jw community.. as witnesses, few of us ever donated humanitarian aid.
this wasn't because we were uncaring but because of what we were taught.
now, in the wake of the horrific disaster in haiti, we can stand up and give to the people who need help so desperately.

Very happy to help! Many thanks to you Moxie, and every single one involved, for putting this together.

i received this via a face book pm from the group christian witness fellowship:.
also near the end of the show, richard rawe says "something extra big" is about to happen that will take watchtower "down," something bigger even than their pedophile scandal and the u.n. connections scandal put together.
he says he can't spill the beans yet, but the something is definitely coming.
i just went to the silentlambs website and there is a link to criminalcheck.com where you can find registered sex offenders by zip code.
so i typed in the zip code of the territory from my old congregation and i was surprised at how many people popped up.
there was three pages of names and on almost all of those names i recognized the street address as one that i went door-to-door on.
This image on the Watchtower's official website front page has irked me for awhile:
Would you like to have a personal home Bible study and increase your knowledge of the Bible?
(Only option: Yes!)
It's not just the shabby Photoshop job — head poorly patched over torso of a different perspective, weird hand proffering brochure and none of these elements ever saw the same camera together — but because of the child exploitation angle. They used to switch out to a less-botched little girl there, but I suppose the pedo's they market to prefer boys?
I admit perhaps I'm overthinking it. In light of recent lawsuits and stories pouring in over the 'Net each day, it seems like a blatant, in-your-face affront to opposers of Watchtower-sanctioned child abuse.

maybe arrogance is not the right word but i can find no other that describes what i see.
the idea expressed by some christians on this board is that somehow god specifically chose them.
i'll quote perry as an example as his post inspired this thread.
What word would better describe the situation when you claim god chose you and not me?
Narcissism: A psychological condition characterized by self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem.

samantha bee on the daily show just recommended that tiger woods become a jehovah's witness (they were playing off brit humes suggestion that tiger needed to become a christian to achieve redemption for his infidelity); "serena williams, prince, ... it's like scientology for black people".. .
the clip should be online soon @ the daily show site..

THIS YEAR, I am experiencing many "firsts." This past Saturday was my first real snowstorm. Growing up in California, I never saw a snowfall like the one this past weekend. Wow! I couldn't believe I had to drive 15 mph on the highway just to stay safe and keep in the lane.
I also grew up not celebrating any holidays. From birthdays to Thanksgiving, because I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, my family did not observe these days. So, believe it or not, Christmas is still a very new experience for me. Soon after I got into the NFL, I became a Christian. Now, I am excited for the presents, and I love the time you get to spend with friends and family and all the traditions that come along with this special holiday. Most important, I realize that Christmas is a time to remember and be thankful for the birth of Jesus Christ.

husband finds missing wife dead in the snowby lisa demer.

At first I thought Mrs. Rosario was fleeing an abusive husband. But Lisa's right: DUI Arrestees. Talk about "blood guilty before Jehovah" if the elders drove her to suicide with their disfellowshipping punishment, on top of her recent trouble. Other faiths readily suggest counseling/rehab, but the Jehovah's Witnesses shoot their own wounded!
How come her poor husband had to search at the Kingdom Hall himself after 5 days? Were the POS elders that incompetent? Or were they obstructing justice as usual with theocratic warfare on the police?
