about a week ago, there was a thread about an elvis impersonating apostate who showed up at the long beach, ca convention and sang kingdom melodies to passing jws.
it was a hoot.

i had been away from the forum for about a month - during the time that he posted his threads about being confronted by his parents, and eventually submitting his da letter.. him and i had hit it off and were corresponding via pm before he departed, but i never got a chance to get any contact information from him.
does anyone here have an email address or cell phone number that i could reach him at?
i would love to get to talk with him again.

i was listening to a song today by rush.
i had heard the song a few times before, but today i really listened closely to the lyrics.
i read the lyrics off of the cd jacket and the words remind me so much of how i felt in the watchtower organization - never being allowed to ask serious questions or raise any kinds of objections to organizational practices.

many of you are aware that the account in acts chapter 15 regarding the jerusalem council has been used as a justification for the modern institution of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
according to the scriptural record as well as historical records, the evidence is very compelling that this council was made up of probably a hundred or so elders; to say the least.
it was very different from the modern institution of the gb, where only a small number of men meet in secret sessions.. here is my question to all of you.

when i walked away from the watchtower religion, there were several aspects of the organization that i could finally see accurately.
there were things that i had been proud of (refusing blood transfusions, shunning people, obeying the gb in brooklyn); that i was now embarrassed to look back upon.
there were also many things that i had once been ashamed of (critical thinking, questioning, compassion for "worldly people"); that i could now be proud of.

here is a quote that i found recently.
i would like you to read the following excerpt and guess where the quote is from:.

i would like to welcome chuck love to the forum.
i would also like to highlight a post which you made recently.
i have copied and pasted a portion of it here: i wrote a book 20 questions jehovah's witnesses cannot answer.
