hey guys, looking for some advice with what to do with my jw wife that is simply ignoring my wishes/demands.
first a little back story, we have been married for 6 years and have 3 children together.
she is a jw, and i am not (nor do i have any religious beliefs).
Also, don't underestimate how thiscrrligion eill grnuinely fuck up your three kids. Especially as you are not a believer.

A wee wake up call for you from someone who's been through it - your opinion don't mean shit as your not part of the religion. You are now the enemy and anything you say will simply be ignored or your character will be assassinated so as to devalue any legitimate points you make.
Itll be this way until your wife wakes up from her indoctrination. Your marriage will be under pressure due to her unswerving loudly to the organisation. I don't envy you.
my mom and sisters have not had any contact with my family for the past year and a half.. we even recently announced a new pregnancy and none of them acknowledged it or called to say congratulations or anything.. this past week my non-witness grandfather passed away and i had thought that for the sake of his death and funeral, it being "necessary family business" that they would at least be civil in front of our other family.
all of them still ignored me, my sisters didn't even speak to my children at all - to be honest i don't think my kids even knew who they were.
for the sake of my grandmother i made a small attempt at the end of the day to say goodbye to my mother and she kind of just brushed past me and said goodbye without really looking at me.. anyways my grandmother told me later that my mom spoke to her and said "i love my daughter and i love my grandchildren and i'm so upset that she won't allow me to see them".
I've said it before on here and I really wish people would do it. It's time people reverse shunned these absolutely vile, toxic people.
Theres no way I would allow my children into a situation where my mother doesn't speak to me yet has contact with the kids. No way. What would this teach your children about relationships? What lesson would it teach your mother about how she treats you?
Reverse shunning drives Witnesses crazy. They hate it. It disempowers their ridiculous power/guilt trip.
Give them nothing. They're frankly not worthy of you.

my brother got remarried to his ex-wife over the weekend.
they had been married for 15 years, but divorced in 2011. they decided to give it another try, because they have 3 kids together, and the dating pool is very thin for jws in their 30's and 40's.
we didn't want to attend, but since i was invited, and they were kind enough to attend our wedding, we decided to suck it up.. the most interesting part was the way my wife responded to the whole ordeal.
I know some pretty independent women that are witnesses and the way they're subjugated has me scratching my head.
is this the reaction you get when you walk into a kingdom hall sporting your new beard 🙄.

In my local area I note that a lot of the witnesses now have beards. I don't know if I'm imagining it but it seems that way. I am unaware whether or not these individuals qualify for provelidges but I know one beardy-bob who does literature.
The world is full of so many important and pressing matters. Facial hair on a man really isn't up there. Which makes the whole JW religion such a petty, prejudiced, intolerant non entity full of self important, authority crazed, assholes.
it gave the poor bastard who past away no respect, hardly mentioned anything about the deceased.
yet hijacked the event with cult propaganda..

Hopefully more content from psycho Tony III. They're doing a great job at pushing witnesses away from this madness.
okay, so everyone is bent out of shape about how the wts is re-writing their history on their past failed predictions (1975).
other threads deal in all the evidence to tear apart their shameless propaganda, so i won't dwell on that here.. but, what i will do is list a couple of observations, silly as they are, that aren't about the propaganda so much as it is about the set design, and costume design.

3 missed calls from my jw brother last night.
i didnt answer because he's actively shunning me and when he does ring it always to preach to me about how we're so close to the end and how i should "humble myself before the mighty hand of god" .
he then texts me saying "we need to talk".
Reverse shun these arseholes. Send a message saying that you can't morally associate with them and would appreciate if they could respect your beliefs.
They hate it and find it completely disempowering.
No way would I allow my relatives to speak to me in such bigoted, downgraded, patronising terms.
as jws , we all remember the thought of dragging oneself out of bed on a nice sunny sunday meeting or getting home tired after a hard day at work contemplating another boring , pointless , repetitive weekday evening meeting.. as the only legitimate reason for missing a meeting is illness , the only way for anyone to avoid a meeting that they really couldn't be bothered to go to ( ie most of them ) is to "pretend" to be ill. so given an average meeting attendance of 60% or so , invariably many people would be missing , presumed dead ( or "ill".
we used to have a congregation game of football ( soccer ) on a sunday afternoon and it always amused me how many jws who were "too ill" to attend the meeting on the morning would suddenly recover , lazarus style , to play without exhibiting any signs of the apparently near fatal acute health condition of that morning.
one of the more officious elders tried to introduce a rule that the only ones who could play would have to have been at the meeting that morning , but in practice it was very difficult to police and the better players tended to be the ones who missed most meetings.. one of the problems was the risk that some well meaning and / or nosey jw would phone up ( or even turn up , unannounced ) at the house to see "how you were" and clearly it didn't go down too well if they found you in rude health chasing the dog or kids around the garden..
I remember groups of witnesses playing football in Scotland. They were dirty bastards that hacked the ankles off folk. Elders too.
