  Weirdest Person You have ever Dated...

  the guy i've just started seeing has certainly inspired this thread: he believes television and newspapers only corrupt the mind, practices some weird religion having to do with contacting his ancestors but claims it has nothing to do with demon worship and doesn't even own a cellphone.

  I dated an actor once. Each time we went out, he tried to become someone else. Changed his looks, the way he wore his hair, the way he dressed. Sometimes very sweet and quiet, sometimes loud and arrogant, I couldn't figure out just who the heck he was and got tired of trying, LOL

  Yes, they do refer to them as weirdos. When I told my mom and grandmother I was marrying one, that was the first thing they said, even all my friends. Those people are weird and strange. I didn't know anything about the religion, so I paid it no attention.

  Sexual or spiritual pleasure?

  i always wondered in my life is it better to gratify sexual excitation or divert it away from its goals of gratification and use it to develop culture or expand awareness (knowledge) in areas of interest?

  or is it too frustrating to do that?

  or is there no value in the belief that denied physical pleasure takes the form of a deeper, more sustained and profitable in the long term spiritual pleasure?

  my name is, mike warren... that's my real age in my profile...& yes that's my real pic.

  though i was never baptized, i was raised in the silly religion... my parents started their study in early 1974 (at least i got 1birthday &1 christmas, not that i remember...) mom was baptized in less than a year after she started her study... it took my father about 7-8 more years to give up smoking, but he still made all the meetings & ruled with a leather belt.. i also have a younger sister that has faded (she got baptized).

  it used to be the knowledge book.

  I quit studying 12 months ago. I was using the Knowledge book, and they switched it to Draw Close to Jehovah. They told me that was the one they were going to use for new bible studies

  Did you feel uncomfortable going into churches when you were a JW?...

  i remember going into churches when i was a jw for wedding or funeral and feeling a sense of dread.

  i thought the demons were going to come out of the walls at me.

  and of course i had the self-rightous attitude that the church would be destroyed soon in armegeddon.. recently i've been helping teach a karate class at a local baptist church.

  The father of the guy i'm dating has been a baptist minister for 20 years. I went to his church about 3 monts after the last time I had went to the KH, seeing all the humungous crosses gave me the willies. Now I don't think it would bother me,and I actually want to go back. But it was creepy that time. And they were taking comunion also, I just passed, felt strange
