i have read a lot of leolaia posts and have seen the attempt of scholar to counteract however unconvincingly.
im not after conspiracy, im after fact, could they move the end of the gentile times to 1934/35?
When they "disconnected" 1914 from the "Generation" that saw the events in 1914 and would live to see the end, they effectively CHANGED 1914, at least in substance.
They have survived, and like others have said, as long as you have "faith" in the "unfaithful and indiscreet slave" then 1914 is not even on their radar.

on this site and others i have been reading about the watchtower society suing bloggers and website owners because they quoted the watchtowers publications.
a couple of observations.
if you quote a publication that was publically distributed by the millions of copies, how could you be liable?

i have seen lots of encouragement for us to 'unite' and accomplish something that would set back the wt society, but in such a diverse group as we are, it seems that even though we are together, we are alone.. has anyone thought of the possibility of 'semi' organizing a date certain for a bunch to abandon the organization?
kind of like the exodus, or someting along those line.
maybe a loosely organized letter writing campaign.

My screen name uninformed was actually a result of becoming informed about the U. N. and WT relationship. It was the final straw in leaving the organization.
therefore: UN Informed. (Most people just thought I was stupid)

It was actually the Media that broke the story in October 2001----------------Check this board or google for articles from the Guardian, a British Newspaper.
The US media did not pick up on it at all that I am aware of.

Why would GOD'S CHANNEL need help from THE EVIL BEAST to further the INTERESTS of the KINGDOM ? C'mon, are you kidding me? This isn't HUGE to you? As soon as I read it I KNEW that there was no way that they could write the sh*t about the U.N. being the evil beast, that they wrote for years and then write all of those glowing reports about how great the U.N. is at least 6 times a year for what? ten or so years and EVER have any CREDIBILITY with me again. ( I was not "in" during the time of those articles). Have you read those articles that the evil bastards presented to the U.N. year after year? If not then you need to do so. They are so slyly written that just that point alone should jump out at you. If you read it in as a mind controlled JW you see it one way. Not as harsh as usual. If you read it as a common householder or member of the U.N. you would think the WTB&TS was in FULL SUPPORT of the U.N. and all that they stand for including world peace through them. When I read it now I can see the purposeful ambiguity to lie and deceive EVERYONE. There was one article that even said "to find out more talk to your JW neighbor". They couldn't at that point say "God will destroy the Satan run U.N." in print, they knew what a JW neighbor would say. If it was God's channel they would "wait on Jehovah" not jump on top of the harlot's back! I bought a pack of cigarettes the day I found out about the U.N., I joined the YMCA the same week and I have never been back to another meeting. I don't see how even the most faithful J.W. couldn't see through this. THIS IS HUGE !!!

Most JW's aren't aware of it, or they are only aware of the WT 'explanation', (library card--bulls--t)

i still can't understand what they would have to gain by being a un ngo.
some say status and others say they could gain monitarily, things to be investigated.

i think of my parents, my aunt, and a lot of the old timers that have been in this thing for so long, and i can't help but feel sorry for them.
i mean, how devastating it would/will it be to find out they have been duped all along.

I hurt with you Joelbear, but don't kid yourself, witness friendships are almost a contradiction in terms. They are sooooo conditional, that I feel they are of no value.
That makes their sad situation even sadder.
