  But what if they're right............still the Truth?

  this will probably apply to few here, but to me it'll always be that way.

  it's the what if syndrome maybe, but it's always there.

  i still think that as a core belief system the jw's have it right, even if their delivery isn't always right.

  BizzyBee........My, how wonderful to be just like you it must be. Chucking a "Poor Soul" out here and there, pittying from the sidelines on us poor un-enlightened souls in the darkness. I read all the replies to my post, and self righteous twats like you on ex JW boards always make me laugh. Oh and before I go, I have a scripture for you, Isn't it "Pity the twatacus amongst us, who knoweth so much, but speaketh such crap. Woe! to them"

  Okay, Scoob, that hurt. Especially that twat bit.

  Seriously, however, why wouldn't I feel compassion for someone who still believes that the WTS might have the truth? Most of us did not go from a completely black to a completely white persepective, but spent some time in the gray area. It is an uncomfortable feeling.

  I have my problems, too, but doubting the stand I've taken on the WTS is not one of them.

  What is the meaning of life?

  i was reading about experiences of those who smoked 5meo-dmt, found in the venom of certain toads, i had got a hold of 1/2 of gram of the 99% pure stuff and smoke it about 20 or 30 times, it a very intense trip, that allows you to see thru many of the progams we got running around in our minds and concepts we've been brainwashed with from government and culture(that's about the best way i can discribe it).

  any way this experience that i take a quote from is after he came down enought to be able to speak english(i often spoke in tongues when first becoming able to speak) i thought he gave a pretty good answer to the question:i felt so clear-headed about everything that i asked my friends to just go ahead and ask me something, anything.

  one of them asked me 'what's the meaning of life?

  I appreciate Eduardo's eloquent presentation and well thought-out premise that the meaning of life is 42. Upon reflection, however, I think that it might be more accurate to surmise that it is closer to 37.

  Anyhoo, I've always been fascinated by the fact that many of those who are most certain that 'this is the truth' are ones who, by their own admission, would be found 'unworthy' of salvation as a JW. Because they therefore feel hopeless, they are justified in standing on the sidelines whining "Poor me," and simply don't participate. These are the sad souls who will defend the possibility that "this is the TRUTH, goddammit!" They'd also rather be persecuted for their belief that actually go in field service, give a talk, or go to the meetings.

  Isn't there a scripture about, 'neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm, He will spew them out of His mouth'?

  i was raised a jw, third generation.

  grampa was a congregation servant and then elder, my dad was an elder for years.

  i made it up the ranks fast, you were not anybody if you did not become an elder, i was appointed at an early age.

  drinking

  hi, i have a problem with drinking.

  maybe it is more with depression.

  has anyone out there been able to conquer this without the whole institution, 6 week program?

  You may be depressed because you drink or you drink because you're depressed. Either way, you've chosen to drink as a response to life's problems. You may find that you just have to stop. Period. If so, AA works. You do not have to do an in-patient program - ultimately at some point the 28 days ends and it is about day to day maintenance anyway.

  Sheep

  so there i am yesterday, driving through the lovely english countryside enjoying the rolling green slopes of the hills.

  now in my part of the world (lancashire) there's lots and lots of sheep!!

  they look lovely mooching around in the grass and moorland totally oblivious to what's going on around them.. until they stand in the road in the path of your car.......licking the tarmac!!.

  In a land far, far away called Dubland - the meek inherit the earth (only if they go out in service, attend lots of meetings, give talks, and underline answers in the paragraphs and regurgitate them, and smooch elder-ass). Its a land where carjackers are converted to a wacky fundamentalist sect on the spot, kidnappers steal only WTS publications and angels materialize to protect Dublandians from homocidal maniacs. And they all live happily FOREVER after (the carjackers, kidnappers and homocidal maniacs, too).

  That is after Big Daddy Jehoobie slaughters 6 billion people who don't know about Dubland plus the other 12 people who don't want to live in Dubland.

  there were certain things that were advantageous such as public speaking, oratory and commentary and the courage to go door to door with an unpopular message.

  NAHHHHHH.....................I learned more about public speaking, thinking and writing persuasively in one college course on communication than 10 years in the KM school.

  What does going door to door with an unpopular message prepare you for, other than more of the same?

  It taught most of us that we were involved in something unpopular............and annoying.

  in the december 22, 1998 awake page 26, jesus m cano or a man who has an uncanny resemblance to him appears supposedly counseling a boy.. i wish i could scan a picture of this now and i may get to it later.. any thoughts or proof this could be cano himself?
