i'm just wondering what the whole apostate propaganda is all about?.
do you think you can do some sort of justice to the wt for the pains they have caused you?, what actualy are your motives?.
i dont get it.
I want nothing less than the complete and utter eradication of the WTS. Thanks for asking.
i haven't been on here much lately, but i read barb anderson's report on the court case in california the other day.
nice to see the borg finally getting what they deserve.. anyway, the daily mail has done a story about it and at the end you can give your comments.
i think there are a number of 'faithful witlesses' on there who are giving the "thumbs down" to any negative comments about the borg, including mine.
Done and done.
here is the article http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/world-affairs/2012/06/secrets-and-lies-have-no-place-when-dealing-child-abuse.
here are some quotes.. "jim mccabe, a lawyer for the jehovah's witness congregation, said that they plan to appeal the decision, contending that kendrick was just a member of the north fremont congregation, not a leader or pastor.
he said: "this is a tragic case where a member of a religious group has brought liability on the group for actions he alone may have taken."".
Yes, if Kendrick being just another congregant is the only basis of an appeal, they are going to have an uphill battle.
Doesn't the appellant have to demonstrate a valid basis for asking the court to re-hear the evidence? -bring forth either evidence of misconduct or incorrect procedure, etc., during the original trial? Or present new evidence?
members of the governing body.
members of the legal department.
no doubt many of you are truly, to borrow the term of r.v.
They have status, power and a comfortable lifestyle. People have sold their soul for less.
so here i sat eating my father's day brunch and the knock at the door startled me.
i peaked and it was a man and teenaged boy in suits.
it was already like ninety degrees outside and they had on suit jackets....jws.
I think field circus is going to be very tough for awhile.
Now, if the GB gave a shite about the rank and file, they'd address the issue and give the average JW some talking points rather than just clam up. These poor folks are going out there raw - up against people who read newspapers, get news online and will see broadcasts about the JW child sex abuse scandal. GB = chicken-shits - and believe me - I know chicken-shits. I'm talking first-hand, up close experience.
of course watchtower lawyer says it's not over yet, we are going to appeal.
thats what they are suppose to say.
but wat is going to want to put this nightmare behind them as fast as they can.
Remember that the jury heard every word of evidence presented and they were apparently unanimously and adamantly OUTRAGED enough to award the highest possible punitive amount. No waffling whatsoever on that score. What is the basis of an appeal?
The money is a drop in the bucket to them. But the negative publicity hurts them internally and externally. What will make that go away the quickest? Pay and shut up. HOWEVER, they still have to deal with their policy of secrecy - what are they going to do about that? Change it and admit fallibility?
Glory jee to beezus! I'm glad I got to see this in my lifetime. And more to come..........
at least "the name" is being kept before the people..
The Catholic Church has had media ass-ache for 20 years over child sexual abuse, not because priests molested altar boys, BUT BECAUSE THE CHURCH COVERED IT UP. THAT is what the WTS is facing. Same-o, same-o.
As the old saying goes - "It's not the crime, it's the cover-up."
can anyone imagine the what the elders in his current congregation must be going through ?!.
in their ideal world, they would have df'd him once they knew there would be a trial so they could play the card "he's not one of jw's.
" but since it occurred in a different congregation and he was already punished, there is little they can currently do.. wow, imagine the buzz in the kh when the info started leaking out.
I've worked in the field of child sex abuse investigation and my colleagues included police, DAs, public health doctors and nurses, forensic psychologists, etc. We had psychologists who counseled pedophiles, too, and I learned from them that pedophiles do not change. Counseling pedos focuses on helping them to
I used to observe one of our clients walking, walking, walking all over town, never without his headphones - drowning out his own thoughts constantly.
A pedo should not be sitting in a KH where they are near children. Their minds will latch onto the visual and other sensory stimuli and simmer. Not good for them or potential victims. But the arrogance of the WTS does not allow them to become knowledgeable about child sex abuse, so that they can understand why pedophiles can be repentant, but not able to change. And they have very poor internal impulse control. Therefore, the elders must provide the external safeguards by warning parents and children. Simple, really.
education (not necesarily structured classroom and not necessarily college) is really the key to everything.\.
skyrocketing birthrates go down when the women get educated about birth control and disease.
even where such education is freely available, birthrates go down further when the women go to college and wait to have babies.
I whole-heartedly agree.
I started taking college courses as soon as I left the JWs. But by then I also was supporting myself, then got married, kids, etc. So I never finished. But I will say that if I had not had that modicum of education I would not have been able to do my dream job (freelance grant writer).
Aside from employment, education affects how one thinks about things and thus affects everything. I had always read a lot, but college made me read things I would not have selected on my own - biology, history, sociology, even math - making for a more well-rounded outlook.
Perhaps one of the best outcomes of education is that it teaches you just how much you don't know!
