  How much does gas cost where you live?

  i was depressed yesterday because i put in the first $40.00 tank of gas.

  (i drive a toyota matrix -- i'm sure most people should think i should shut up now ...) .

  i was hoping you guys could make me feel grateful for only having to pay $40.

  I bought plane tickets this morning for $486 for two tickets from Jackson, MS to Orlando, FL in July.
  It's 693.90 miles = $185 for a 30 mpg car at $4. (Not including wear on the car)
  
  We decided to fly because we would miss 2 extra days extra from work each and that would cost us $400 right there.

  getting over it - how long does that take?

  in december i started reading things and thinking with an open mind (for the first time in my life).

  i'm still discovering things daily that irritate me about the wts.

  i've been to about half a dozen meetings since march.

  I left 3 years ago and here's now I spent that time:
  
  6 months = research to decide this is really what I wanted to do
  1 year = research to reprogram
  1 year = to work on leaving it behind / therapy (I actually saw a therapist for 4 months or so)
  The past 6 months = recovered with only about 2 sad spells.

  i for one will not, mainly because i just bought the soon-to-be-older iphone that came out june 2007. i bought it last month and simply couldn't wait one more month ... oh well i still happy ..

  Shunning & JWs on Miami Ink TV Show

  miami ink is a show about tattooing, it airs on u.s. cable channel tlc.

  the show highlights the work of the tattoo artists and tells the background of why a person gets a particular tattoo.. on last week's show a young lady wanted what she referred to as a "conscience" tattoo.

  when i heard "conscience" my ears perked up.

  i love my dad & mom so much.

  they are just so involved with the religion and will not see any other point of few.

  my son is with my parents spending his first week of summer vacation with them.

  My father has already said that he will not know his grandchildren because I'm an apostate. He never talks to me.
  
  I got a surprise one day when my mom called me saying that she left my dad because he wouldn't let her talk to me. She has now left the organization and we are great friends again. She is even moving closer (to just 20 minutes instead of 2 hours away) in two weeks! Miracles happen. Just pray.
  
  So many of us know what you are feeling. Time will help and heal a lot of the pain. It never goes away but I only cry a few times a year instead of several times a week now.

  *rolls eyes* my dear hubby rented 3 movies, one of them was "juno".

  i kindly requested that the children were not to see that movie.

  just a moment ago my hubby came down stairs alone and i asked where were the children.

  I am speaking from being 26 and remembering being that age just 10 years ago. I don't have kids and I'm not giving parenting advice. I am married though and am well aware of how hard but important communication is. I just remember how traumatized I was as a kid when my parents let me watch inappropriate things. So I think that limiting what they watch is a good thing. I always understood when my parents wouldn't let me watch something. maybe that has something to do with being a girl? I have no idea. I also must say that my parents never let me know when they disagreed. They talked about it privately. That consistency really helped me feel secure.

  my inactive family hates that I researched why the jws are wrong

  they don't want to hear it, they think i am being hurtful having so many books about cults, jws in particular etc etc.

  i never talk about it but they saw my bookshelves in my office during a recent visit and are besides themselves.

  they want to know where the anit catholic literature is - (my husband and kids are catholic, i am not).

  It seems that all we go through to be there for our family is never appreciated. The love I have for my father is so strong that sometimes I feel like I could cross a mountain to get that relationship back. I know that even if I did have that relationship, I couldn't go back to the way things were. He would never approve or be proud of the woman I have become. I had a choice to make and I decided that the past love I cherish is much better than hating him here today in the future. I'm very happy with my choice and I have a lot of peace about it. And I just wanted you to know that if it comes to a DA, that decision has brought a lot of us happiness and peace.

  1. the elder i was in a bissness with decided a hand shake was not a contract, and paid me $500 dollars instead of the $3,000 he should have....i felt so stupid, but quit with him and treated him like a disfellowshiped person since....also he would pay me half a days wage when i worked from 8am till 3pm ???????

  when told about this he said sorry but "couldn't work out how to re-emburse the lost hours.".

  2. my elderly mum sold some furniture when moving, to a sister who promised to pay from her single parent pension in small installments........nope!

  When they did "volunteer" work to fix my katrina damage, they asked for a $2,000 check for it. I was really dumb and gave it to them.
