Why the so formal attire?

having visited various churches i have seen that many of their members are casually dressed while worshipping.

the contrast with the jws is great, why do they always have to be formally dressed in their suits and anyone wishing to dress casually is frowned upon?

it goes to show how pharisaic and controlling the cult is.

has anyone in the uk sent a "subject access request" under the data protection act 1998 to the bethel or the local congregation?.

i'm very tempted to as this will mean they have to provide any personal information they hold.. i was disfellowshipped, reinstated, appointed and stepped down.

i'd like to know what information is held on record in regard to these incidents.. s8..

X-Wife Got Married Yesterday........Our Son is Shunned Today!

my wife left me 5 years ago when i left the jehovah's witnesses.

she got remarried saturday to one of "our" old jehovah's witness friends jay .

jay's wife, judy died 6 months ago of cancer.

If your x-friend asked your x-wife for a date at a funeral, I guess there had to be something going on behind the scenes for a time then. Sick bastards. If and when my daughters get married it should prove real interesting, cause you see I don't take much shit from anyone or anybody and don't play games.

much has happened, and it appears that much more is going to happen quite quickly.

Hi Drew,

I feel your pain. The elders in my congo were afraid to come over my house and see the research that I had acquired on the Mexico/Malawi scandal. I think they knew they would look like fools when I finished with them. My PO even said he would come over with the CO and see me. NEVER showed. 2 elders after almost a year and a half finally cornered me at a local gas station in town. That was a big mistake on their part. I gave both of them a piece of my mind. They have no guts. Anyway, I wish you and the wife the best in whatever you do. I don't post much anymore but when I read this I had to say something. I have always enjoyed and will continue to enjoy your posts.

after tens of thousands of young witness men in the prime of their lives have spent years in jails for refusing civilian service in 1996 the watchtower decided such a choice was not unchristian and a matter of choice.

what, though, if the state requires a christian for a period of time to perform civilian service that is a part of national service under a civilian administration?

Ask the guy who spent 10+ years in prison for a crime he didn't commit and then was let go due to new evidence? At least the system has the courtesy to say that they had the wrong guy and let him go.

Long Time Current Bethelite's Take On the Young, New Gov. Body Members

i was talking to a friend yesterday whose sister and brother-in-law have been at bethel for three decades at least, working in important departments that put them in contact with the writing dept., gov.

body, etc.

on a daily basis.. this friend of mine has been a witness for half a century, and has been fading for the past 3-4 years.
