two weeks ago my wife had a miscarriage at 11 weeks.
it is very sad as it was to be my first child and my wife is already 39. what hurt the most though is that none of my immediate family contacted me.
i was d/f in january and did not expect to hear regularly from my parents and sister.
My family were always very close. To be suddenly shut out from them has shocked me, as I can not believe that they are that sort of people. I am struggling to come to terms with what sort of people my family are. What does it say about them; or is this barbaric religion so powerful that it can change a persons personality that much?

The way they are treating you speaks volumes about the religion cult that they are in.
i have the video, finally, of the city overseer perjuring himself.
in it, he denies wt publications, refuses to read wt articles and quotes claiming they come from "apostate" websites, etc.
it is about 10 minutes long.
This is one of the great reasons for a PUBLIC system of JUSTICE. There is no expectation of privacy when someone provides PUBLIC TESTIMONY. Liars can't hide.
I couldn't of said it better Jgnat. This is exactly why they do everything in private. No recordings etc of the JC meetings. I really cant wait to see this one.

Got married young, you know the scripture: better to marry than be inflamed with passion. So marriage it was. If I had it to do all over I would of at least waited a few more years till I was more stable both mentally and financially.

thought today that i would try to get some questions answered.
i wanted to see if he could answer my concerns and was looking forward to a nice discussion or some peace regarding some things that are driving me crazy.. so, i saw this older 'wise' looking gentleman on the street holding up some mags.
so, i approached him.
Sounds like all he was concerned with was getting in those hours. Time, time and more time. He really could care less about people.

...or so it begins.. firstly, pre-1991 ex-jws (a term which i find preferable to apostates) felt fairly isolated from one another, had few lifelines to the outside world, and were unlikely to find out much more than whatever they left because of.
hearing experiences of people returning to the borg after a horrible experience on the outside was not uncommon at all.
without a support structure and generally having lost even family support through the disfellowshipping/disassociation policy, returning seemed the only way to establish a modicum of stability.
I am but one of many that would not be here now on this forum sending this message if it were not for the internet.
The Tower in years past could always hide and change their past, but now it is much harder to do so without getting caught.

this is a message to sir82 or anyone with information on the recent kingdom ministry school, .
i have had several discussions with a friend of mine whose brother went to km school and he said there was information given about those who no longer attend meetings and are baptized "are sort of viewed as apostates".
i was speaking with a family member of mine concerning this issue and two questions arose: 1. are the notes from the recent km school acurate?
even the WTS would not stoop this low surely? Stopping going to meetings does not make somebody apostate
I have to disagree with you Stilla. I am living proof of this very situation. I am baptized, have stopped going to meetings and have been referred to as an apostate by the elders, my own sister, as well as being shunned by members of the congo.
My only question is why they ( the elders ), do this and yet wont say it to me personally? I think I know why, but that's another thread altogether.
Personally I have lost all respect if any I had for them. They are like little children playing name games with peoples lives.

for those of you that have been dfed - how long did it take you to be reinstated, and how long did you continue to be active?.
i was reinstated after 5 months out and i continued to be active for about 5 years.. although i have to admit, i never felt the same about the dubs after i was reinstated, and should have quit the religion much earlier.
I got DF'd back in 1984. Was out for a year and a half. Didn't really do much since then. Just came back because of family. Now I'm on the verge of leaving on my own terms this time. Never looking back.
