Career track for ambitious Ministerial Servants
by sir82 indidn't i read somewhere on this forum that there is a "pool" of 50-100 "young annointeds" (aged 50-60 or so) that have various responsibilities in bethel?
and that as replacements are needed in the gb, they are drawn from this pool?
the last 4 or 5 gb members most recently appointed are "young annointed" ones.. so, for all you ambitious young ms's out there, here is the career track:.

Not bad,,, this would be a great career path for one of my uncles. He's an elder,, due to pressure he quit college after his first year so that he could pioneer.
He became an elder under the age of 30. Now he's working as a carpet cleaner. GB member would be a great career move for him. I better get him on the phone quick!!!

Were you ever ashamed of another JW?
by JH in.
in the field service, i was going door to door with an elder, and he couldn't stop spitting on the ground every now and then..... .
once at a ball park, i saw a 75 year old ms watching a ball game, and he took napkins to wipe his bench because it rained and it was wet, so he wipped his bench and threw all the napkins on the grass instead of walking to the garbage can about 30 feet away...

Ashamed of this brother (about 60 years old) who would pee in the bushes when we were out in service. I refused to go in the group with him anymore.
Back in Minnesota, I remember a brother like that. He claimed to have a bladder problem, and it would never fail that he would have to jump out of the car and take a leak.
It didn't matter where we were. If it was city territory, or rural, he would just pee anywhere he could find a spot. VERY EMBARASSING!!!

3-15-06 WT "Keep Clear of False Worship!"
by Bonnie_Clyde inthe whole article condemns all other religions in no uncertain terms--using such terms as "a drunken prostitute", "prostituted herself by forming alliances with one political power after another.
" paragraph 9: "that jehovah hates false worship is clearly seen from what happens to babylon the great.
revelation 17:16 states: 'the ten horns...will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.

Nice,, Are you really going to visit a hall and 'inform' them of the UN involvement? That's a great idea, I'd love to see the look on the conductor's face.

Projected growth of the Watchtower Society
by Elsewhere ini took the growth figures from 1945 through 2005 and use the past growth rates to predict the future rates and this is what i got.... by 2010 the growth rate will reach 0 and after that the average number of publishers will start to go down.
their average number of publishers should stop rising at about 6.6 million members and by 2025 they should be back to 5 million.
it took them 122 years to reach 5 million publishers and it will only take 10 years to go back to 5 million publishers after they peak out at 6.6 million in 2010. .

Interesting... The second graph is very close to the graph about "World Oil Production" which shows oil production peaking at about 2010 and then oil supplies will decline.
Apparently witnesses will 'peak' around 2010 or a bit after and then decline. It makes sense though, without gasoline, witnesses won't be able to drive around searching for
a mcdonalds while they're out preaching.

JW Pseudo-Vegetarians
by kristyann inwe don't talk to them anymore, but a couple of years ago when we did, my boyfriend's jw mom and sisters all of a sudden decided that they were "vegetarians.
" they decided it was wrong to eat jehovah's animals, and plus, they said it was "healthier" anyway.
i found this to be pretty ridiculous for a few reasons.. one, they were not really vegetarians.

I have one relative that's a vegetarian and raises their kids that way as well. My only problem with it is that they rarely prepare and cook meals properly and end up
eating too much pastas and junk foods. Right now the kids have so much energy they burn off the extra calories,, but I fear that later in life they will end up
as typical overweight americans.
If done properly though, I think vege diet is great. But if you're too lazy to prepare good meals, then forget it, you'll just ending up eating crappy like the rest of us.
