  About Tattoos...

  somebody was asking me about tattoos and what the biblical rules about them are.

  i also remember that a magazine (an awake!?

  ) mentioned that getting a tattoo is a matter of conscience.

  I have mixed feelings on the tattoo subject. I probably will never get one, and if I do, it will be tasteful.

  Generally speaking, when I see a person with a tattoo it's really no big deal. However, I do pay special attention to any tattoo I see, as many tattoos are gang specific.

  Living in Los Angeles, I'm aware of the typical prison tattoos(signifying the person has done time in prison) and various gang tattoos. If I see someone with a gang/prison

  tattoo, I'm sorry, but I don't approve of those, or of that person for being proud of his/her prison time or gang affiliations.

  i know i know, i'm so sorry to bug you guys about this but for obvious reasons i can't talk about it with anyone from the congregation and you guys are familiar with the watchtower.

  in the watchtower, the woman is expected to be 'chaste.

  ' so i'm worried that if i decide to marry someone that is a jw if what i did before will be a problem.

  the JW religion and he wants to raise the kids as JW's?? Believe me, that is a fight you don't want to be part of. You won't be fighting against your mate, you'll be

  fighting against your mate and the entire congregation that he attends. They WILL involve/intrude themselves in your life, wanted or unwanted.

  How will it be after the WTBTS will have fallen ?

  i sometimes imagine that the wt is destroyed (mental masturbation yeah) and all the people left without hope, sanity and joy.

  this will be terrible in itself, if the wt falls suddently i fear a mass suicide.i recall myself thinking that id would rather die that not be in "the truth".

  it will be a terrible shock for everybody.

  my grandfather left my grandmother with nothing,, When he died, she was about to lose the house. Of my 100 witness relatives, only my father(not-a-witness) stepped in and

  bought her unsellable and uninhabitable house so that she could move someplace safer.

  Do I think all JW's are bad? NO Do I think all JW's are good? NO People are people,, however we grow tired of JW's and their apologists who promote them to be better

  than all others. Such elitist attitudes are unacceptable.

  I've always felt it's very arrogant to think that we, as humans are entitled to live forever whereas animals are destined to suffer and die. With most humans(not all) having more

  intelligence than the average animal, it does not make us deserving of eternal life.

  Ofcourse I'd love to live forever. Do I think that is possible? The honest and truthful answer is, I don't know, I can only hope.

  no, no, let me pick up the check, mom.. i think there should be more acronyms used at bethel.. i will have to remember to donate for those 42 yearbooks i sent out to my friends.. i am going to sit in the second row at the family study so my friends can see me on tv!.

  i really enjoyed all the juggling in that last family night.. that watchman duty sure allows me to learn my way around bethel.. what's gleaning?.

  hi guys, as most of you know i have been inactive for a bit ( august of 2004 was the last time i turned in time) i changed congregations in december and have pretty much faded.

  last night i had a talk with someone and he asked me why i was still in, why not just da?.

  Best case scenario would be a slow reduction/fade of this religion resulting in just a few JW camps in kentucy. However I don't see that happening, I think they'll always be around

  as there will always be mentally unstable people looking for such a religion. What I don't see happening is a major increase as we've seen in years past. Even Third world countries

  that are more receptive to the JW's will soon be tapering off.

  was your old congregation one of those that got together and publicly, noisily, happily destroyed your records?

  mine was.

  it was pretty dumb because most of us replaced our albums within about a year after missing music that we liked in the first place.

  I was briefly at a congregation Minneapolis, Minnesota. I remember an elder stopped by for a social visit with my roommate and his girlfriend. My roommate was telling me

  that this elder proceeded to inspect all the movies, cd's that were in the house to see if they were up to WT society standards. Shortly after that night,

  my roommate discarded the condemned movies and cd's. I couldn't believe that my roommate allowed this to occur,, He's one of the few that has a college degree and is

  a thinking person. However at the time he was dating and has since married a pioneer sister, so his goals soon changed to that of becoming a servant, then elder and putting

  spiritual things first. I always thought his then GF and now wife, was full of crap. If she was so spiritual, why did she go after a successful college graduate,, why not after

  one of the single pioneer brothers that cleaned toilets for a living? hmmm I'm getting off topic now so I'll stop.
