  What would you recommend to Memorial Lurkers?

  this is your chance to give some advice to lurkers who may need the courage to push the envelope.. my advice; read raymond franz's books, crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom.. raymond is not the frothing-at-the-mouth rabid apostate you have been lead to believe he is.

  here its 7:43 and for the 1st time ever, i see the wrong time on my computer.

  usually we advance time in april, this year it's a month before to save energy....... maybe it's y2k 7 years late....

  Br. Apostate. You mention a Br.Archibald was this back in the seventies. We had a C.O. by that name and he got killed in a head on collision. I wonder if it is the same guy.

  Hang in there sparkplug... the wife and I know exactly what you are going through. We had her mother for five years and the description sounds the same. She would spend the whole night yelling out my wife's name loud enough for the next door neighbors to hear her. Hope you have better days ahead. Really consider the home, my wife promised her father that she would not put her in a home which really is not fair..(((((((hugs to you)))))).

  been away from the truth for nearly a year now and have just got my divorce from my violent ex who is stil serving in the congregation.

  found things hard and still am, as the 'truth' is all i've ever known....so am on here for some well needed support, if thats ok?

  I got the 'prodigal son' treatment from my parents last night

  yep, i opened a letter and received a highlighted 5 page print out from the watchtower library cd.

  i find it somewhat insulting they think i'm lost and wasting my life.

  i'm curious to see how others have responded to this kind of treatment..

  At my father's funeral the C.O. spent the whole time talking about the prodigal son after about the first five minutes talking about my dad,(which were lies anyway). The talk about the prodigal son was directed at me. I never felt so much like punching someone in the mouth as I did that day. All my friends and non JW's felt the same way.

  Familiarizing Newbies with the JWD Forum

  newbies take a look around at this forum on your screen.. did you make a post yesterday and can't find it now?

  up in the lefthand corner of the screen under the jwd forum logo, you'll find your poster name.

  if you "click" on it, your profile page will appear and you can "click" on your "posting history" and locate that post you made and see any post that others made after it.

  Doing your own building work. Success or Disaster?

  i've recently had a burst water pipe in my house, which now gives me the chance (courtesy of the insurance cheque.

  i'm lucky to have a good friend who's a carpenter so he'll be doing the complicated stuff, but while i'm happy to have a go at general diy, i'm always stressed about screwing up, rather than just getting on with it and enjoying it.

  do you do your own diy, plumbing, wiring etc.

  Do all my own...electrical...plumbing...building ...roofing...caramic and laminate flooring and everything else that goes with maintaining a home and love doing it all.
