But Jesus never taught the principle of shunning. His examples were just the opposite.

Question on DF'ing
by littlerockguy inif disfellowshipping is a biblical practice, why didn't jesus do it?
there is no record of him doing it or even mentioning doing anything remotely like that.
in fact, it would seem to me if that practice was set in stone back then during his time, wouldn't he have taken some similar action against judas?

how do i contact someone?
by ramza414 ini wanted to know how to contact someone to come over and talk about the bible with me.
i can't seem to find anything online as far as contacting anybody.. the reason i ask is that my dad has been talking to someone who just randomly stopped by our house a couple years ago and i have since moved to the other side of the country (i'm in washington now :( .
) he is definately alot happier than he has ever been and seems to really understand the bible now.

Newberiffic.
by frogginator inhey, just thought i'd do a quick intro, share some song lyrics that have spoken to me, and then have a look around.
my name's erin/froggi, and i've been disfellowshipped for 4 years, since i was 19 years old.
i was raised a jw, and my homelife was actually quite idyllic, typical 50s sitcom stuff, like the cleavers.

Life Outside the Witnesses
by jgnat ina newbie poster reminded me that jw's considering an exit may not be fully informed of their choices.
what is life like on the outside, and is such a life worth following?.
i'll post a summary of my lifestyle and choices in a minute, but i thought i'd at least get the thread started.

Another Newbie :)
by merfi init's hard to know where to begin, so i'll just... begin.. i had my first encounter with jw in high school when my now ex-husband moved into our small town.
(you're doing the math already, aren't ya?
:) ) after finding out he was a jw, i did a little bit of reading into it, which he discouraged... told me that that stuff is "apostate" (i had no idea what that meant) and that he'd give me stuff to read.

by whyamihere inyesterday, i was having a horrible day....(some of you may know).
well i was given the 2 hour long conversation on "how i am a evil unacceptable person".
as in my last thread, i stated that my sister went threw my house and found pictures of my children in their halloween costumes.

Sorry to hear of such mean comments. They wer losing the argument with you about their beliefs, so they as usual change the subject. Forgive them for they know not what they do, it is part of their training in dubland.

A GREAT BIG "THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - PLUS UPDATE
by Dansk indear all,.
i thought i'd best make a new thread rather than add my message to the vigil thread, for example, as it might not otherwise get noticed.. yesterday afternoon i was allowed home from the hospital - but only until wednesday morning!
as many of you will know, i have been in christie cancer hospital in manchester, england, ready to undergo a stem cell transplant (in my case, stem cells taken from my blood to be returned later).
