The kingdom hall I attended was built in 1956 with windows. They were often broken so they just bricked them in, and then later sold it to a Catholic church. After which they bought another church for their kingdom hall.
Oh by the way welcome to the forum. OT

I am faced with serious decisions here - Can you help me find the answer?..
by AK - Jeff ini am going to reveal details of a personal nature here.
these details may reveal who i am to anyone looking to finally expel me from the organization - but frankly that it of little importance compared to what i am now having to decide.
i ask those who here - with either the qualifications, or who can direct me to those with such, to respond.

I agree you should make him prove paternity and also with the other person that said not to let him come to your home.

I bought a cross.
by lostlantern ini will consider this my first act of spiritual freedom.
i bought myself a celtic cross, i will admit i picked one out that i hope isn't recognizable to my parents.
i know it is pathetic to be 31 and still afraid of what they think but i am not ready to lose them.

Witness and Food Stamp Scam
by MissBehave inhi everyone, been reading here for a long time and have to say how much i enjoy all of your stories, insight and opinions.
this is my first time posting but i remembered something today that i thought was worth sharing.
when i was a teenager and going to the hall (i successfully faded about seventeen years ago), there was a family who would come to the hall in all their sunday finery (better clothes than we can afford), drove up in their nice luxury vehicle etc.

Thinking of coming out of the apostate closet
by Brigid inmy dear fellow sojourners,.
i am in deep repose today.
as free as i feel from the organization, there is still one tiny veil yet to be lifted.

Brigid You must weigh all the consequences and not be hasty in making a decision. You can still come here for support and bide your time until you are positively sure you want to post your picture. Good Luck.

For NICE PEOPLE only!
by BlessedStar init seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.
this leads to understanding and concern.
i would like to meet you people.. please post in here.. i term nice as being kind, not cursing, love for god almighty, thrives on the right things in life, not hurting other's feelings, etc.. blessed star

So, did you know any Janitors or Landscape people?
by free2beme inlol!!
okay i know this is a dumb question, but was it just me or did we seem to have a lot of janitors and landscape people in that religion.
i did know a couple of higher paying professions in our congregation, nurses, large business owners and a couple of retail managers.

When I was a dub I started a cleaning and janitorial business. That was in 1974, when I left I gradually faded out the janitorial jobs and concentrated on building maintenance which opened up a much bigger scope of work. Now when I get jobs I can contract out a lot of the work. I enjoy it very much.

"Neutrality" is Nonsense
by metatron ini have observed some people drifting away from the watchtower who will acknowledge that most witness beliefs are false.. however, they may still cling to "neutrality" as a means of assuring themselves that "it's still the truth".
the witness idea of neutrality is naive.
as entire nations now mobilize for wars, the idea that you are somehow 'not part of it'.

Metatron: I agree with you 100% Those that fought for everyones freedom are the real heroes!

Happily self employed and have been for 32 years. I could retire but enjoy it too much. Do all types of building maintenance and sub-contracting.
