My Wife Just Left Me Because of the Evil Watchtower
by rassillon inthis is very difficult to write because i am crying.
i am normally not the kind of person you will ever see cry because things don't affect me that much but this has got to be the hardest things i have ever went through.. i just got through discussing with my wife my feelings.
i guess it has been hard to hid some of the things that i have felt since i have learned that many of the wt teachings are false.

What sorts of books or other material do you read?
by zagor ini dont think i have a particular style.
in fact it changed through different stages of my life.
as a kid i loved reading novels, which changed once i came into my teens, and i started developing interest in hard stuff of natural world, psychology, ancient cultures and mysteries.

Help settle a debate. Internet relationships...
by esw1966 ina stay at home dad posted on craig's list that he was looking for platonic email correspondance with a lady, someone to talk about life with, insights into relationships, a reason to turn on the computer in the morning et cetera....... my fiance occasionally finds herself seeking relationships with select people online and getting into soulful conversations with them.
she feels that people can be their truest selves in these moments.
to share the quirks of life with random fellow americans is somehow thrilling to her.

Anybody a member of AAA? Would you recommend it?
by AlmostAtheist ini'm thinking about joining the aaa auto club.
my car is getting along in years and isn't going to get replaced any time soon.
i'm imagining that my stranded-on-the-side-of-the-road moment is imminent.

those that chose to be in....not born in
by purplesofa inof all the things i have read on this board, i never really thought of jw's as being a cult, .
just some paragraphs out of combatting cult mind control by steven hassan, the perspective for me has changed.. pages 69, 70 and 71.....selected paragraphs.. sensory overload like sensory deprivation, also effectively distrupts a person's balance and makes him more open to suggestion.
a person can be bombarded by emotionally laden material at a rate faster than he can digest.
