Amazing,
So glad you're on the road to recovery.
When David (felixa) told me about Alan's post, I think MY heart skipped a beat.
Take it easy. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and Alaskan salmon (healthy fat).

right now my body is half shaven with needle marks and bruises everywhere.
if i were stopped on the streets of chicago looking like this, staggering with fatigue, i would be arrested.
something we men have a hard time getting through our thick heads is that just because we feel basically okay, does not mean that we can or should do a lot physically after a traumatic event ... and i found this out by doing a little too much walking at the hospital chest tightened, became out of breath, and got dizzy.
Amazing,

just feel like i need to vent.
my wife accused me of seeming not to enjoy being around her.
this was an accurate assessment on her part though i didn't acknowlege that.
Yeru,
Stop doing HER clothes. If you can't stand them being all over the house, then buy a seperate hamper and toss hers in that one alone.
Do your clothes and the kids' clothes, but leave hers alone. When she runs out of underwear, maybe it will be a wake-up call.
Sounds simplistic, but it worked for my sister and for an old friend.

don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this it certainly isn't a jw belief and i don't believe in believing (much of anything), but i'm always theorizing always speculatin' and heres a particular speculation i've been hypothesizing for some while now, something a really powerful post in this forum inspired me to throw out here for your perusal.
whatever the reaction, your sure to have one!.
think about this, you know suffering, struggling, forging on .
ideas by their very nature ARE relative, and by clinging to them they can never possess the truth, as even abstract concepts expressed through tools like language only POINTS to the absolute truth, AT BEST.
Kind of like "the finger pointing at the moon".
Western religion has a tendancy to focus on the finger (no wise cracks here please), instead of the moon.
All religion points to "the moon": God, Ultimate Conciousness, whatever.
There are many paths to get there, but personally, I find the concept of non-dualism the most fascinating.
Dang I love Eastern philosophy!

SusanHere,
First, I would like to correct my statement that the Mormons come to my Grandmother's house WEEKLY to collect tithe. I truly meant monthly. Sorry for the error.
Secondly, I hope you recognize that I was attempting, through all my replies, to state that LDS people aren't the stereotyped polygamists that the media paints. They are "normal" people. (Definitely more normal than JW's.)
It's true that I have problems with LDS doctrine. I also have problems with JW doctrine, Baptist doctrine, Catholic doctrine, etc...
I love living in Utah. I love the LDS friends that I have. I love my family, of which 90% are LDS.
The axe I have to grind with Mormonism, is the same axe I have to grind with most (not all) religion.
Do you live in Utah, if you don't mind my asking.

Good article. Thanks for posting it.
It's sad that in many people's minds that atheism = evil. It like paganism = Satanism. They are not comparable.
Bush told Muslim dignitaries, after having invited them to pray in the East Reception Room: "America seeks peace with people of all faiths."(Rolling my eyes)[8>] Bush wouldn't like my "faith" any more than he likes atheism.
All people are called to the defense of the Grantor of freedom, and the framework of freedom He created."God needs defense from us? And what is the "framework" of freedom God created? I'm sure John Ashcroft feels it's democracy.
Are people ever going to look at each other as people? As humans? Not as black or white, as Chritian or Muslim, or as believer vs unbeliever. Probably not.

Actually, there are many many things I like about the Mormans here in Southern California
One of the girls I work with is a Mormon from California. Another girl is a Mormon from Oregon.
They both think that the Mormons in Utah are way strange.
The Mormons here are more strict about dress. They can be strict about music. It all depends on the Ward, the Bishop and the individuals that make up a community.
Culture plays a role too. Utah culture is very different from California culture.
None of my LDS family members have been excommunicated and shunned for discontinuing church attendance.
The LDS friends that I have are ASTOUNDED that JW's shun.
My main gripe with the Mormons is that they faithfully show up at my parents house each week to collect tithe from my father and grandmother who haven't been to church in over a decade. To top it all off, my grandma has cancer. I think they should be offering some money TO her, to help with medical bills.
The LDS people that I know that are nice, are nice because they are nice PEOPLE, not because they are LDS. Vice versa also applies.

well we got the phone call from the elder to let us know of the decision to disfellowship us.
the one elder called while the other sat on the phone as a "witness".
the second elder was once a close friend.
Barbara and Family,
Disfellowshipping and shunning is an evil, horrible thing to do to a human being.
However, I want to congratulate you on finally being free! As Simon said "Welcome to the rest of your life."
May you continue to have the courage you've shown already, as you face the future.

after cruising the board for a while i must say it is amazing the ignorance that some show on this board of the true issues at hand.
those who are critical and small minded know who they are.
also the meek however angry know who they are as well.
Whooohoooo!!!
Bravo! (Clapping)

Currently I live in Layton. The congregation I attended was in Sandy. That's about 40 minutes south.
