Now he is suing his former wife, the Watchtower Society of Canada......
Let's hope he wins, big time
i was talking with someone not so long ago, that had lost their child due to the blood policy.
they were both active jws at the time, but has since left the religion.
the child died, and i`m just wondering: has anyone ever tried to sue the wts on basis of this?

Great site, thanks for the info
okay, first thank you to the greastest degree for the warm welcome and insight you all have given itis and me since i've started visiting your very apostate site.
my life as a jw.
it starts with my maternal grandmother.
Freedomlover,
That is one hell of a story
thanks for sharing
i saw that other people had done this and i figured it would be a good way to introduce myself.
i've been reading many of the threads and let me tell you that it's comforting to read that others feel the same way i have felt about being in the organization.
i'm not sure how much i can contribute as far as delectible tidbits of information, but i have replied to a couple of threads to, if nothing else, interject some 'humor' into things.
Hi forsharry, welcome to the board, it's great to have you here
i know i did.. we had a young fellow who used to live at my grandmother's place.
in may ways he was like family.
after he moved out of my grandmother's place i saw him frequently.
When a close friend was dfd, I joined in the shunning process, but I hated it. I occasionally see the guy now, he is still out, and we are friends again. I once mentioned the shunning to him, and tried to apologise, but he said I was doing what I understood to be right then and he had no hard feelings.
.
.............. coc, of course.
when you were still in the org, or when you had already left.. i read it when i was still in and it had a profound effect on me.. lets take a poll .
I read it not long after I had stopped attending meetings. I hadn't then decided whether I was going back or not. After reading COC, I knew I would never set foot in a kh again.
i believe that most jws are deep down inside angry over the fact that they went along with the status quo and the majority just to be accepted.
some witnesses would like to have a tattoo, a mustache, a shaved head, a beard, a new red sportscar, etc.
but they don't because they would be viewed as "immature".
1. Gave up a good job to wash windows and pioneer
2. Limited contact with my relatives on the advice of the elders
3. Threw out half my record collection because it wasn''t "suitable" music for a jw to listen to
4. Stopped seeing a woman I truly loved because she didn't want the lie
.
hello to all, i was raised pretty much as a jw and became one of the super goodie two shoes type, you know......didnt even swear when i was alone.. im now disfellowshipped and since i followed the guideline of not having friends outside the organization i now find myself completely alone, my friends are all jw's and none of them can talk to me.
so now i feel lost....on another planet almost .
Hi Michelle,
Welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place to make friends, many on here have been in your position. I am happy for you that you have a boyfriend who is untainted by the watchtower.
It may take time, but rest assured, you will make new friends outside the borg, and not conditional ones like those in the congregation, who abandon you the moment you stray from the wt.
All the best

new to the forum, new to the truth.
trying to get a better understanding of what i'm looking for.. .
i'm a young married mother of three beatuiful babies.
Hello MRSJG, and welcome.
It is good that you are researching the jw religion before making your mind up whether to join or not. Be very thorough and objective in your research, you may find that, after the "honeymoon period" which every potential new convert goes through, that the jw religion is not all it first appears to be. However, if you do decide to join, then I wish you well.
Take care
